Luques Curtis

I still linger in the memories of my end of April tour with Claude Diallo Situation. These moments are always very important to me and I feel privileged to have Luques Curtis (on bass) and Túpac Mantilla (on drums and percussion) to join me for my many performances with Claude Diallo Situation. A big thank you goes to Sarah Abrigada, who invited us to record some of her own music and Jazz Standards at the Balik Farm Studios. We also accompanied Sarah in St. Gallen for her concert, which was beautiful. Another highlight of the tour was certainly a 2 piano performance with Zaccai Curtis, the brother of Luques, who visited us for the first time and performed some repertoire of his 2025 Grammy winning Best Latin Jazz album Cubop Lives! We had such a good time and having Cuban percussionist Keisel Jimenez joining us, gave us another energy boost, which made this concert evening and the tour an unforgettable one. Last Saturday, April 25 I had one of these "Once in a lifetime" moments. Like when you have your birthday and Christmas together at once. The performance that took place at Kultbau St. Gallen on two grand pianos was one of these concerts that you will not forget. It was simply amazing and will be remembered. Many thanks to Zaccai Curtis, the pianist brother of my long time friend and bass player of Claude Diallo Situation Luques Curtis. We performed tunes from his 2025 Best Latin Jazz Grammy winning album Cubop Lives and were joined by Cuban percussionist Keisel Jimenez and Claude Diallo Situation drummer Túpac Mantilla.
