Hello fellow Lunch__Breakians 🧿! This months show is kind of laid back, since it’s spring, and the pace of life is slowing down a bit. I’m starting this show with one of my favourite records at this moment. The new album of Fabiano Do Nascimento & Vittor Santos Orchestra. It is filled with wonderful tracks, from a to z. This show starts with the track ‘Spring Theme’, which does credit to its title. Fabiano’s brilliant guitar playing combined with beautiful arrangements played by the Vittor Santos Orchestra, creates this dreamy atmosphere that is just so so good.
Also: 2 Years of Lunch_Breaks! Time to celebrate!
it’s been a real pleasure hosting and creating shows for the past two years. Big s/o to PIP and to the listeners! Thanks for listening, and lets continue to enjoy awesome music together!

For this month’s show, I’ve invited Marcos Tocae. Marcos is a DJ and selector from Brazil, who has been living in Amsterdam for quite some time now. The show he recorded is an absolute delight to listen to, and has been on repeat at my home since he recorded it at PIP. Varying between balearic, synth(pop), Brazilian music, and soul, this show radiates sunshine. The first track he plays immediately sets the tone - you know you’re in for a good time.

This one’s for the lovers! 💕🫦 February 14th, a day for all lovebirds around the globe, calls for a show filled with love songs (or to make love to). Do you know anyone more qualified to make this show than Roy Orlando? Me neither. Roy takes us on a lovely journey of love songs, interviews and interesting dialogues between lovers. Wishing you an abundancy of love in your life, and for you to enjoy the ups and downs it brings. Happy (belated) valentines day. Check it on PIPradio.nl or via the link in my bio.
For this month’s show we’ve had rising star Lizz.e over at PIP’s studio. Lizz.e is a very versatile DJ, usually focussed on music that you’ll hear in clubs, but for this month’s show she dropped the BPM a bit. Her set is a delight to listen to; blending genres like kwaito, downtempo grooves, balaeric and electro,Lizz.e takes you on an interesting trip!
Lizz.e about the first track: “Amajovi Jovi by Sandy B is a South-African house gem. It’s textured, groovy, and full of soul. It brought exactly the warm, joyful energy I wanted tot start my set with. Sandy B helped shape the early South African house sound with tracks like this one. Definitely worth a listen!” Listen to her set on PIPradio.nl, or via the link in my bio!🥁
To kick off 2026 with a bang, we’ve got a special clubby mix for this months show by my friend, Brazilian DJ and selector Gabriel Badwan. I’ve had this banging mix on repeat lately, hope you will too. Thanks for a year of listening to Lunch__Breaks and have a great 2026. Check the show via PIPradio.nl or via the link in my bio.
For this month’s Lunch__Breaks show it was my pleasure to invite Amsterdam based multidisciplinary artist, creator of beautiful works; Ivana Dukic. Ivana’s first track is Impressions (Take 1) from John Coltrane’s “Both Directions at Once: The Lost Album,” which was released in 2018. The original session, recorded in 1963, included four different takes of the song, and the deluxe edition of the album features three of them as bonus tracks. We will hear Impressions (Take 3) at the very end of the show. Check the show via 🔗 in my bio, or on www.PIPradio.nl.
Psychedelic rock in Southeast Asia emerged in the 1960s and 70s, in post-colonial Cambodia and surrounding countries. Also the Vietnam war era was influential. Its sound is characterized by its fusion of Western surf -, blues -and psychedelic rock with local folk traditional music. This resulted in unique sounds from countries like Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand. Where the US psychedelic rock era was soundtracked by bands like Jefferson Airplane and The Doors, Cambodia had Sinn Sisamouth, Ros Serey Sothea, and Pan Ron. Referred to by some as the “golden era” of Cambodia, it met an unfortunate end when the Khmer Rouge took control over the country in 1975. During its four-year reign of terror, traces of Cambodia’s psychedelic fling would be all but smashed: the music banned, recordings destroyed, and an artistic community marched with millions of others to the killing fields. Fortunately, throughout the 1990’s and later, a lot of long-lost tapes and recordings have been recovered; keeping alive the memory of a special era of music and culture in the area.
This show contains music from Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. If you enjoy this music, compilations I would recommend you to check out are ‘Cambodian Rocks’ and ‘Don’t Think I’ve Forgotten: Cambodia’s Lost Rock and Roll’ and ‘Pebbles Vol. 1-18, Original Artifacts from the Psychedelic Era.’ And ‘Saigon Supersound, vol. 1-3.’ I’m still diving into the sound and era myself, so if you have any recommendations please hit me up. For the 14th show of Lunch__Breaks, I thought it would be nice to explore some deeper sounds. The first track is Amina, by the The circling sun – it’s from the album orbits. This is the second album by this amazing jazz ensemble from New Zealand that came out on Soundway Records. It’s jazz-fusion, with hints of other genres, and overall it’s a very interesting and captivating sound. One could name it spiritual jazz, with inspiration from aritsts like Alice Coltrane, Sun Ra.
What I enjoy about this specific album is the way the music feels like entering a dream state. The sound is very light and is a delight to just listen to, while at the same time it has some form of primal deepness in it. As I love this type of jazz, and especially this record, it seemed only right to open the show two tracks from the album Hope you appreciate “Orbits” as much as I do. For the 13th episode of Lunch__Breaks it was my pleasure to invite my friends, Mavochi! It’s an amazing set that covers a lot of genres, be sure to be taken on a musical trip.
Mavochi about the first record: “We’ve chosen to start with “Planet Caravan” by Black Sabbath. It really is a mesmerizing song that showcases the band’s softer, psychedelic side, contrasting their heavier metal roots. The song was released in on the Paranoid album. It features dreamy vocals by Ozzy Osbourne and a mellow, jazzy guitar solo by Tony Iommi. The lyrics evoke a cosmic journey, capturing a sense of peace and wonder that’s rare in metal music. The track’s atmospheric quality was enhanced by unique production techniques, including Leslie speaker effects on the vocals. It’s a timeless piece that invites listeners to slow down, reflect, and float through the universe.

For the twelfth episode of Lunch__Breaks we got blessed with a silky smooth set by Kim Josefine. She made the trip from Nijmegen - where you might’ve seen her at venues like PAAK Vinyl Bar, or at festivals like Drift - to the PIP studio to record this set. It’s a set that has everything you need. A smooth blend of sounds, like (modern) soul, funk, jazz and library.
Thanks for sharing with us Kim!
Kim about the first track: “The track I want to highlight is by the legendary French jazz funk band Cortex, titled ‘’Prélude à Go Round.’’ Recorded over two days in 1975, this song and album still sound absurdly fresh. The combination of sensual, sultry chants and raw, on-point drums is very distinctive and transports me to another level of being. The warm sound of the Fender Rhodes and the saxophone solo that glides through this track makes it absolutely complete for me. If you’re not already familiar with this masterpiece, then now is definitely the time.”

For the eleventh episode of Lunch__Breaks I've brought some ambient, funk, soul, jazz-funk. Records that I'm enjoying at the moment, very much influenced by the gift of beautiful weather that we've had in the Netherlands lately.

For the tenth episode we’ve had New York’s finest over in the PIP studio, @arjun___spins . He brought some amazing records from his collection at home in New York, and the newest additions he scored during his short stay in The Netherlands. Every record is fantastic in it’s own way. Personally, I loved the mix of genres and energies.
Thanks for sharing with us Arjun!
Arjun about the first track: The Beaters - Inhlupheko Iphelile “The group later adopted the name Harari, the title of this album, after the public began referring to them by that name. I love the laid-back introduction and the groove that unfolds, much like setting into a cozy chair. Get ready for the journey!”
