"LIVE LOVE FLIP FLOPS" top ready for the longarmer. I loved using inherited neutral fabrics from my late mom-in-law that was an amazing quilter. I designed the quilt in @theelectricquiltcompany and had a blast using my @luminfabrics for the water and those adorable flip flops using @accuquilt GO! Summer Medley die. Quilt was pieced and a-play-qued using @aurifilthread on my @brothercraftsusa . I love how a simple 4 patch block can be sew fun! Quilt was designed with our fun family beach times when walking the beach and the water rushing onto the sand. Flip flops is a funny story on blog :-) This was my first "Mystery Quilt Scrap-a-long" on blog but not the last :-) Can't wait to give this to my daughter for her birthday. Special times...special memories all tied together with generations of fabric and thread.

Phase 3 of "Cats Mystery Scrap-a-long" feaures another love of mine... @theelectricquiltcompany ...I love designing and being able to create in a fun and easy way is a win for me. I did a little "flip-flopping" of the original EQ8 flip flop block in Comtemporary Applique Season Summer to create the vision that was in my 'quilters brain." EQ8 software has endless possibilites for you to create along with tutorial guides to help you when needed plus a customer service crew that is always there to help. I started out using the Wizard...then EQ6, EQ7 and now EQ8. Sure makes designing fun! Todays blog post shows the original block design in EQ8 along with Clue #4 :-)

Celebrate Earth day w/ 100% Re-gift-able bags! My sweet grandson gave me this idea when he was throwing away paper bags after opening Christmas presents. He said "Gege this is crazy....you could make bags." Well...he's right...who would throw away a bag that is handmade. I wanted to make a gift for a sweet quilter friend and I used scraps from her new collection "Berry Crush" by @luminfabrics ...I used @aurifilthread 50 weight #2582 to quilt around the mini orange peel template from @missouriquiltco & scrap pieced the back with accent quilting. I love making bags...gives me the opportunity to practice quilting on a small scale & make something special. Todays blog post has the rest of the story :-) Have a great stitchin' weekend,
