A little introduction for my newer followers!
My name is Dallas Curow and Iām a photographer based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
I moved to Edmonton over 10 years ago so I feel like a local now but pieces of my heart live in Ontario, BC, and Quebec where so many of my loved ones reside. For this reason Iām a rare millennial who enjoys phone calls! I adore hearing my favourite peoplesā voices and catching up on both the little daily details and big life updates.
Iām a mom to two little ones, Felix (8) and Beatrix (6) and a very spirited bearded collie named Pearl. I do my best to integrate creativity into my familyās daily life while also modelling some semblance of work/life harmony for my kids.
Itās an honour to document peopleās important milestones as well as the beauty of their day-to-day lives at home. I also love working with brands to support all their visual storytelling needs and create imagery that feels authentic and elevated.
When Iām not shooting or editing, you can find me reading voraciously, being cozy at home with my family, crafting with pals, thrifting solo with my headphones in so I can catch up on my favourite podcasts, or endlessly chatting with friends over wine and snacks around someoneās coffee table.
This season is life feels rather hectic and demanding, so I also find myself seeking out quiet moments to journal or sketch whenever possible.
Here I share my photography work, snippets of my life, and lots of things that inspire me or spark delight that I think youāll enjoy, too āØ
Thanks for following along!

Happy Motherās Day @lesliecurow šø
Some of you may not know that my mom is also a photographer.
She led by example and taught me and my brothers how to find and preserve lifeās greatest joys and simple moments of beauty with a camera.
She would set up a backdrop at my childhood birthdays so my friends and I could dress up and pose and feel like movie stars.
She has always been our faithful documentarian and as a result has shelves full of albums and boxes filled with prints. Because of my mom, we are privileged to have a spectacular visual archive of our familyās memories.
I didnāt plan to have a career as a photographer; I actually went to school for something entirely different. But over time I realized that taking pictures is what feels most natural to me. Itās an everyday practice, a love letter to light, and way of holding up a mirror to people and saying, āI see you, and look how beautiful your life is!ā
In gifting me my first camera at age three, my mom encouraged me to view the world through both my eyes and my lenses. I was able to see things as they were while also feeling empowered to frame things the way I wished they could be. She gave me the gift of learning I could shift focus, converse with sunlight, and become an artist.
Iām here for you now, my beloved clients, because of my lifetime with her.
Thank you for this, Mom, and for everything you do š¤

Founded by partners Chelsea & Taylor, this inviting brewery and taproom is an oasis of coziness and colour in an industrial corner of northwest Edmonton.
I visit often to hang out with friends, to play board games with my family, and even to attend board meetings. Their Matinee Lemon Cream Tea Tart Ale is my personal favourite š
Head Brewer Chelsea was kind enough to give me a full tour during our shoot and even invited me to pour in some hops into the brew kettle. Sheās a former environmental scientist and microbiologist who combines her years of laboratory experience with remarkable creativity and a sense of curiosity. Iām always delighted by the inventiveness of her seasonal brews. Last weekend I tasted her Rhubarb Tea Cream Ale and it was delicious.
This shoot was part of the Spotlight & Connect West End Women-Owned Businesses for @webelonginjasperplace . Thanks so much for the warm welcome, Chelsea and Taylor. And thank you for creating a lovely community gathering place!
