I’m very proud of this collection of songs and so very grateful for the friends who helped me make them and encouraged me throughout the process. The music is much better and richer because of them.
@kyle_dugger4 played the drums and made them sound like they weren’t recorded in a living room
@sprots_player played the electric guitar and the bass on the songs with pedal steel. Marshall also mixed the record
@sam_caster played the pedal steel, synth, background vocals, and the bass on the songs with electric guitar
I played the keys, clarinet, and saxophone, and sang the songs
The record was mastered by @rachelfieldaudio at Resonant Mastering, Seattle, WA
The album cover was designed by @michelleayoubi

Had the pleasure of doing a little mechanical restoration on this Wurlitzer 206 for @ramblecreek recently!
The piano already sounded nice, but it was difficult to play because of some worn out springs and friction throughout the action. After replacing the old springs and felt, lubricating the action centers, and touching up the key leveling and regulation it’s playing nicely again!
I always forget to document the process with projects like this, but luckily I had the foresight to get a quick video and a couple before/after photos before the keyboard went back home.

The @halfmass_ record is out now! It’s called Ten Gallon Heart and it’s crazy and beautiful and I hope you’ll give it a listen!
I feel very lucky to have been involved in making this album. I think it’s really good and special, and I’m so proud of Marshall and everyone who had a hand in making it.
Marshall has such a unique way of looking at music and the world, and watching him write and flesh out these songs has been incredibly inspiring. I think he’s a genius.
Kyle and Aaron are both such thoughtful collaborators, and I am always learning so much from watching the way they listen and add dimension to songs.
Seth is a virtuosic engineer and producer. It was a privilege to work with someone of his caliber and also pet his dog.
And now Zack is playing in the live band! Everyone already knows he’s the best, musically and personally, and I’m so grateful for any chance to make music together.

Additionally, the elusive @y.a.l.l.b.o.i will be filling in for our dear Sam Caster, who will be gone but not forgotten (he has a family gathering to attend)

Very excited to announce that on November 19th I’ll be heading up to @leestavall studios in Brooklyn to record some one-of-a-kind 7” vinyls of my songs!
Each record will be cut in real time as I perform a special solo rendition of a song of your choice, and will be the only existing recording of that performance. This is a super unique and cool program and I can’t wait to make these records!
