We have a special Cashmere Session coming up, w/ MSHR and Victor Burton! MSHR (Birch Cooper @nestedface and Brenna Murphy @liquidtransmitter ) were among Cashmere’s first artists in residence in 2019, in our good old Lichtenberg studio. They are currently on Europe tour and will present their AV show “Network Entity”, we are more than thrilled and looking forward to be catching up with them! For their audiovisual performance “Network Entity”, MSHR has designed a digital system that links visual and sonic parameters using open-source software. The duo improvises with the system via a handmade sculptural interface to unfold a series of compositions for video projection and four-channel sound. The result is a kind of live cinema in which visual and sonic shapes mutate through mutual interaction, guided by the players. On the same night, Victor Burton will perform his set SUPERJEKTIN’ VOL. 1 An iterative mixtape, product of fiction, actualized through the encounter between Footwork and procedural computer diffractions. Der Klangkünstler, Radio-Host und Kurator Lukas Grundmann @lukasgrd , stellt seine Arbeit vor und spricht über sein Engagement in verschiedenen freien und institutionellen Kontexten. Lukas Grundmann (*1987 Korbach, DE) beschäftigt sich mit Sound und experimenteller elektronischer Musik. Seine Produktionen bewegen sich in Kontexten von Musik, Kunst, Theater und Radio. Er arbeitet als technischer Leiter und Lehrbeauftragter am Masterstudiengang Sound Studies and Sonic Arts an der Universität der Künste Berlin. Seit 2015 organisiert er im Kollektiv den Verein und Community-Sender Cashmere Radio @cashmere_radio . Aktuell entwickelt er Stücke für Akkordeon und Synthesizer mit Camilla Barratt-Due. Fürs zweite Halbjahr 2025 ist er im kuratorischen Team der Klangkunst, einer wöchentlichen Sendung auf Deutschlandfunk Kultur @deutschlandfunkkultur — Warm invitation to the fifth edition of „Flock", a collaboration between the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg and the Kunstverein Nürnberg — Albrecht Dürer Gesellschaft. Sound artist, radio host, and curator Lukas Grundmann will present his work and talk about his involvement in various independent and institutional contexts. Lukas Grundmann (*1987, Korbach, Germany) works with sound and experimental electronic music. His productions span the fields of music, art, theater, and radio. He is the technical director and lecturer in the Master's program Sound Studies and Sonic Arts at the Berlin University of the Arts. Since 2015, he has been organizing the community radio station and collective Cashmere Radio. He is currently developing pieces for accordion and synthesizer in collaboration with Camilla Barratt-Due. Camilla Vatne Barratt-Due (Canilla) and Lukas Grundmann work together as a duo exploring the intersection of extended accordion techniques and live electronics. Their collaboration is rooted in a shared curiosity for sound transformation. At the core of their practice is the accordion’s rich harmonic potential, which serves as a springboard for experimental processing. They manipulate and expand the instrument’s textures—merging them with both digital and analog synthesis. Their setups often involve a blend of live performance and automated systems, including fan-driven reeds, breath-controlled sensors, and live coding environments. Their work moves fluidly between composition and improvisation, structure and chance. They often create custom physical interfaces that become both tools for performance and conceptual extensions of their sound practice. Canilla is a newly sculpted project by Norwegian sound artist and instrument builder Camilla Vatne Barratt-Due. Frequently composing for dance and theatre productions she develops sonic fields that often includes electronics and live coded synthesis merged with materials from her extensive accordion collection. Canilla’s performative installations have been presented in museums and theatres as well as sound-art, dance and music festivals in Germany, Denmark, Spain, Sweden, UK and Norway. Lukas Grundmann works with sound and experimental electronic music in installations, performances and compositions in contexts of music, art, theatre and radio. He is a board member of Cashmere Radio, curates Klangkunst for Deutschlandfunk Kultur, and teaches at UdK Berlin in the M.A. program Sound Studies and Sonic Arts, where he also serves as its technical director.

[ENDLICH] Sat, 14 Aug 2021 13:00 - 20:30 Plattenvereinigung am Tempelhofer. Endlich is a free open air event showcasing music, sound experiments and time based art from Berlin-based artists. The music program will focus on the work of the two labels at the helm of the event - @failed_units and @oqkoinfo - as well as select guests. Running in parallel to the music program are installations showcasing the work from visual artists. Please note that the event is barrier free. Endlich is part of Pop Kultur Lokal 2021.
