Tangible Music Club #13 ⚡
📅 19.05.2026 | 07:00 PM
📍 Stadtwerkstatt Saal
MSHR
The Portland-founded art collective (Brenna Murphy & Birch Cooper) builds and explores sculptural electronic systems. Their performances weave electrical signals and human presence into dense networks, using homemade instruments and analog circuitry to create spatial feedback systems of light and sound.
LOTIS (Theodoros Lotis)
The acclaimed composer and professor creates cross-media electroacoustic music and soundscapes. With a focus on the sonic spectrum, timbre, and space, his award-winning compositions explore the boundaries between instruments, computers, and digital spatialization.
GUEST LECTURE // MSHR 🔊✨
📅 19.05.2026 | 02:00 PM
📍 Tangible Music Lab & Online
Join us for a lecture with MSHR (Brenna Murphy & Birch Cooper), an art collective weaving electrical signals and human presence into mesmerizing audiovisual hyperobjects.
They will be sharing their creative journey over the past two decades—exploring instrument building, system composition, and the psychedelic integration of sonic and sculptural mediums.

MSHR (cybernetic light + sound show - NYC)
Luce, suono, sculture elettroniche, cicli cibernetici vari. Se riusciamo lo facciamo in quadrifonia. Sarà incredibile? ehhh boh mi sa di sì. Spizzati il sito con attenzione per un po’ di cose pazzesche.

“MSHR is an art collective that collaboratively builds and explores sculptural electronic systems. Their performances and installations enact cybernetic audiovisual environments as living compositions. MSHR was established in 2011 in Portland, Oregon. Their name is a modular acronym designed to hold varied ideas over time, pronounced as letters or as one who meshes.”

Tremoneta (talk + insect sounds - ES/IT)
Juan López Díez è un appassionato biotremologo e sound artist, farà una breve talk sulla comunicazione vibrazionale tra gli insetti, come è resa udibile all’umano e cosa può svelare. Seguita da sessione di ascolto.
La talk sarà in inglese.

Storming the drang from Portland: we are excited to welcome MSHR, Birch and Brenna’s art collective. Their performance weave electrical signals and human presence into dense networks of causality that babble with life-like current. Their homemade instruments unfold spatial feedback systems of light and sound, opening a flickering space of translation between sonic and sculptural dimensions. Acting as elements within the system, MSGR navigate electronic ecosystem tangled between agency and circuitry

Cybernetic audiovisual environments, percussive (dis)appearances, reel-to-reel cyborgism, turntablism eclecticism, ephemeral audiovisual balances, in-situ traces, interactive forest memories, sonic morphings/blurred identities, vibraphone nuances :::
25.04, MSHR @ Beursschouwburg: Electrical signals and human presence unfold into dense networks of causality that babble with life-like current; homemade instruments conjure spatial feedback systems of light and sound.
29.04, Alexis Degrenier @ Hall M – URSquare: Using space constraint as an extension of his setup, Degrenier inhabits a bare acoustic space with tense threads between ephemeral appearances and spectral disappearances.
25.04, Augustė Vickunaitė @ Beursschouwburg: A performance in which the human body, reel-to-reel tape recorders, and magnetic tape form a closed system, channeling bodily energy into mechanical motion, only to be torn and destroyed.
03.05, dj sniff @ BUDA BXL: Merging experimental, hip hop, and free improvisation through self-built instruments and conceptual approaches to turntablism and audio culture.
29.04, Gwendoline Robin @ URSquare: A performance inspired by high mountain listening, translated into elemental visual and sound installations exploring the balance between ephemeral and permanent, solidity and collapse.
02.05, Ato No Mae @ Bodeek: A performance incorporating found objects, self-built instruments, keyboards, and voice, leaving behind an atmosphere, a presence, and traces within the space.
25.04, Ikbal Lubys @ Beursschouwburg: A performance inspired the tropical forests of Kalimantan and the impact of deforestation, playing the forest’s memory as an interactive testimony of its transformation.
28.04, Diane Barbé @ Rosas Performance Space: Playing with sonic morphings and blurred identities, presenting several pieces by handmade wind instruments and synthetic-acoustic sculptures.
02.05, Rubén Orio & Andrés Navarro play Sarah Hennies @ Bodeek: Repetition and subtle nuance give rise to instabilities in the sound, dissolving the edges of virtuosity and of time, and allowing tones to unfold in space.
