White Robe, performed at the Baxter. A song I wrote blindly a few years ago inspired by a photograph by @justicemukheli . I dedicated it to the many lives lost in Palestine. Reconnecting with this song during this time reminded me that my favourite thing about Islam is the way in which we bury people. It is beautiful and so respectful. How heartbreaking that so many people have not been given the opportunity to be laid to rest with respect and dignity.
Thank you to everyone who came, donated and supported and thank you to @alicephoebelou for having us. The show was a fundraiser for @gift.of.the.givers and we managed to raise R50k. I hope this can help in some way as we look towards a small victory with the ICJ ruling and hope that more aid can reach Palestinian people. We are thinking of you šµšø
I asked @arronnathan to take some pics of me. Mostly to help rebuild my confidence and find my light again. So we a used a reflector that had this beautiful glow and the thing about a reflector is that itā¦ reflects light.
Coming out of a relationship which had broken me in every way - my confidence, sense of reality, trust - it was really hard to pick myself up, love and believe in myself after I was made to feel so small and worthless.
But I know my light is bright and beautiful. And although Iām a bit more careful on where I let it shine these days, even if it is just for me, I know my light can never really dim because it radiates from within āØ

The one year anniversary of Nice is coming up and Iām feeling a bit sentimental thinking about how much this body of work means to me! I have a few things Iād like to share to celebrate.
For now, here is a a video from the EP launch, one of the most special shows lāve ever done with a most special band - an honour and a privilege. A beautiful way to share a body of work which took a lot of a time and love to create. Thank you to all hand involved in making the evening as beautiful as it was - those involved and those in attendance.
