Tap and hold to pause🍿📸
2023 was a whirlwind — but man oh man am I grateful for all the humans that I crossed paths with in front of and behind the lens ❤️🔥
There’s a rather pertinent realisation I came to towards the last season of this year and it was that the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ often precede the ‘who’ — and yet it’s the ‘who’ that will carry you through it all. This past year taught me about ‘who’ — in the truest sense.
grateful, grateful.

“Make some noise for yourselves because we can’t do this by ourselves”, a phrase that has stuck with me over the week as Mick Jenkins repeated it between songs during his set. Some context shared around this ‘mantra’ came from recognising how its been 10 years since The Water[s] was released — and while the search for semblances of truth, clarity, purpose[s] and will forever continue — there’s an attitude of gratitude for the community we ought to forever express.
Snoh sang. Like she did that. Manana made hearts mend. Mick spoke his truth — and it resonated. Internet Girl PULLED UP. BLK ODYSSY left jaws the floor and hearts high. Ayra made us mooove. Marcus had us bouncin’. 6lack took us on a journey. Ah and the homies running it up at Beach Club / Station had crowd grooving. There was so much joy!
POLYMORPHISM IS OUT NOW!! Please sit with this one from @internetathi dear friends 💫
These are some outtakes with Mr Cetyana from time that has flown by ✨
Getting to know Athi in moments off the stage, in the crowds of our favourite bands and on the football pitch has been a blessing — and getting him in front of the camera has been a joy.
I’ve always been struck by Athi’s everlasting thoughtfulness and his ways of honouring others. That level of acknowledgment, appreciation, and care — for those near and far — with this endearing tone of gratitude for all the ways in which time [songs], gifts, words, encouragement and light has been shared. With that being said, his music has often reminded me of Aja Monet’s work which often weaves wonder into words around how poems are offered as tools/mediums/expressions of care for us to *see* us. To which ‘Polymorphism’ is a poem that definitely does what it needs to do. And to know you, as a friend, is to know that we do indeed contain multitudes – there are worlds within. Camagu, truly.

Earmarking 100+ days into 2026:
A little off-kilter life update post framed as a be-real-esque highlight reel ✨(Who would’ve thought that 20 frames wouldn’t be enough)
Summer’s song has been a blessing – extending itself into choruses of shared moments in community, interludes of stillness, rhythms of ‘doing the work’ and harmonies of grace, love and celebrating this little life 🫀 There is so much to be grateful for 🥹
Our first time attending @capetowninternationaljazzfest was a whirlwind of experiences. From witnessing great international acts, to watching debut performances, we immersed ourself fully in every moment.
Our very own @vuyopolson was along for the ride, as well as guest photographer @arronnathan , so expect more to come this weekend when we get their perspectives

It really won’t be long until we’re blessed with more mastery, a shared love for musical storytelling and soaking up all the joy (and tears) together — some might say it’s the most wonderful time of the year. ✨🫶🏽
Some highlights from the 2025 edition of Cape Town International Jazz Festival! 🤩
Outtakes & Monochrome moments from June 2025 🌬️
Going nowhere slowly — venturing into the Overberg with some loved ones (not pictured here). Over time, it feels like the landscapes begin to sing through their seasons — and the kindest thing one can do, is listen. just simply listen.
2025 was a crazy year. some mountains were moved, some weren’t [and we lost some heroes in the process]. we gained hella experience [mainly for the better] — but goodness gracious me, am i grateful.
these are some markers captured in the mix of adventure, joy, grace and other things [20 images is nowhere near enough for a highlight reel, but i tried anyway.]
here’s to ‘26 — aiming to move at God’s speed this year [and share more, thoughtfully — with the last two frames as a mood].
in reflection, i’ve acknowledged how it’s been nothing short of incredible to be in community this year — seeing people (some whom i’m privlieged enough to call dear friends) chase down opportunities, make dreams tangible through support and transform things into purpose-led-entities, all the while doing so while making the circle bigger (with care) — has been beautiful. not everyone gets to see those [read: your] quiet moments, so as they’ve appeared in varying shapes and forms, documenting them have been as meaningful as ever for me (as shared in prior recent posts).
(more) Monochrome moments from June 2025!
Finding my way through some archives from the year as it comes to a close — much was documented and it feels good to re:live some of these moments in between 💫
Moral of the story: Go for a walk.
It is but an honour to observe the dying of the light — and to find joy in how it will all come alive again tomorrow.
