A Milan - Lake Como - Milan sandwich holiday.
@teatroallascala for special centenary performance of Turandot; love the eco Boscoe Vertical towers, integrating trees into the buildings; then north to Lake Como and joined a group to walk surrounding hills for a week. Inspiring people, everyone older than me & everyone fitter than me. Such a stunning location.
Today a look at @fondazioneprada and some unique exhibitions.

Shakespeare Theatre Association (@bardsta ) mini reunion to welcome @manderhold of @coshakes and @beverly.kingston to @the_globe to see Romeo & Juliet (twice!) and present to staff on violence prevention amongst many other things on their packed agenda.
With @thesonnetman who is also in town and Charlie Withers.
End of a glorious production with the best company. Thank you to everyone who made Romeo and Juliet such a success, it’s been an extraordinarily journey.
In the true spirit of this show, the warm up included @owengawthorpe pulling off an epic stunt jump over the whole company. What else would be so fitting?! ❤️
@the_globe
APPRECIATION POST for @littlesoldierp actors @patriciarodriguezinsta and @merce_ribot who I feel lucky to have known and crossed paths with for over a decade: including 2014 when I took a school production to Edinburgh and we saw their brilliant Don Quijote which was massively inspiring for students. We joined forces to do royal mile pillow fight publicity stunt, as you do!; 2017 inviting them to the multi academy trust I worked in to deliver workshops and perform Don Quijote for the arts festival, seeing some of their shows along the way. And then they arrive @the_globe in @thistimcrouch The Tempest, the perfect casting of Trinculo and Stephano, and it’s been lovely having them in the building. There are so many extremely talented performers out there who graft for years, develop outstanding craft, but perhaps never quite get the gigs they deserve so it’s just great when it happens. Much love ladies.
And 33,000 students later, just under a month since we started, the Playing Shakespeare school shows of Romeo & Juliet came to an end yesterday. Behind this incredible project are the absolute best team of people from our Education Learning and Production teams.
From today until April 12th it’s public shows full steam ahead!

Somehow, in the strange time warp that is Production Time, we have finished rehearsals and tech for Romeo & Juliet starts Monday! 😮
I am lucky to have such a wonderful cast and company.
And we are all lucky to be learning from the @londonvru Young People’s Action Group, coming into rehearsals and giving brilliant advice and ideas.
Now all we need are the student audiences, all 27,000 of them, oh yes, can’t wait!
And non-student audiences, please book, please come, it’s selling fast.

A fabulous week in St John’s Newfoundland at the @bardsta conference.
The epic journey was worth it for the company & inspiration of these best of people.
Took part in a 3 day quick raise original practice workshop; spoke on staging and workshopping Shakespeare with a violence prevention lens alongside the experts on this @manderhold and @wendage of @coshakes , and attended numerous brilliant sessions, talks & performances. Such respect for our USA colleagues who make up the majority of the conference & are doing everything to keep delivering work that gives joy and positive change despite being in a new form of hell.
@jenndeonnl and her team from @shakespeare_by_the_sea did a truly remarkable hosting job.
Cheers for the company and hanging out, Charlie Withers, Mike Tucker of @cssf_uk Mary Hartman of @bardonthebeach@sarahcorbynwoolf@nicobet of @shakespeareinparadise Mac of @elsewhere.shakespeare@the_globe
