@danivalent will be talking with @lucyridgewrites about her book, Fed Up, on Thursday the 28th of May.
Fed Up takes readers on a journey from paddock to plate, exploring the role of women in food production and prompting us to think more deeply about the people responsible for our dinner.
Time: 6.00pm
Location: @readingsbooks Emporium, 287 Lonsdale St, Melbourne
Free, but bookings are essential. Link in bio for more details.
I had a brilliant chat with @danivalent on @deepintheweedspodcast about the book, ‘aha’ moments and all things food.
Give it a listen on the Dirty Linen website or whatever podcast app you use.
What a LOVELY little snippet in @sydneymorningherald and @theageaustralia today!
Pretty chuffed to see Fed Up out in the world (and they think I’m funny!)
I was honoured to give the vote of thanks at the ANU’s Meet The Author event with the inimitable Stephanie Alexander.
I started off by sharing my messy forays into lemon curd as a child thanks to our prolific lemon tree. So naturally I had to wear my lemon shirt 🍋
Stephanie’s conversation with Alex Sloane will go up as a podcast - will share when it’s up!
Check out this baby chef having a moment in the @guardianaustralia
This piece is just a teeny tiny fraction of what the book is all about, but food and community are at the core of the whole thing, so if you like this you’ll love the book!
Big conversations happening in food right now—and this one is a must-listen 🎧

Surrounded by seriously impressive fruits and veggies, author and former chef @lucyridgewrites is right at home.
Taking inspiration from her first female mentor, Lucy set out across the country to learn from women who grow, make, harvest and live a different kind of life — with ethical food production at the centre of it all.
To celebrate the release of her memoir, Fed Up, we asked Lucy a couple of curly questions.
Read the blog to see what she had to say. Link in bio!
I'm loving Lucy's book. It's well written and seamless. What I mean by seamless is that every sentence flows into the next without needing to re read any of it. The subject is very engaging. A meaningful and interesting insight into what is actually involved in producing food. Growers will find the story resonates with them. Non growers will gain a deep appreciation of what goes on behind the scenes to bring their food to the table.
It's a perfect pick to celebrate and acknowledge International Women's Day.
Thanks @lucyridgewrites for travelling the country and producing a fun, informative, and thoughtful book.
