Incredibly grateful to have had the experience that I did on this mega line. The decision to attempt placing the gear on redpoint the day after came from the thought everyone gets after sending a project... what's next? for me this whole Dyurrite trip is to focus on becoming confident in placing gear, rationalising fear and making quick, safe decisions so that I don't get myself in sticky situations in the future and for upcoming adventures. I had lots of fun sport climbing on gear to get the pink point but I felt guilty to have let the trad space go for a few days. Yesterday
@earthymedia came and took some incredible snaps of me on this stunning line. As I went up to rig a rope for Kate I scoped out how difficult it would be to place gear through the crux. Surprisingly the crux nut (on India) was the easy part. That thing slid in so perfectly with the toe hook that I barely noticed the extra hand motion. Incredibly satisfying. Basically a bolt. The one beforehand was tricky and added a bit of extra climbing to make sure the traverse into the crux was still safe. Anyway after scoping it out I was pretty psyched to give it a go at some point. I wasn't sure whether I would go for it or wait until it was less of an eery vibe day. But I decided it would be good for me to give it a go and to make the decision on the wall as to how I felt...I was lucky enough to have
@cuskellyphotography there for the best belay, having him on the other end of your rope is probably aid. Basically I just kept going and have never felt so box pumped in my life. Thanks for all the support and congrats messages from everyone :-) It's pretty special when you tick off one of those bucket list routes <3 Photos by the amazing
