In honor of #InternationalDanceDay, we are excited to premiere the latest episode of our series Luckman Sessions, Raiford Rogers: The Architect of Los Angeles Dance. NOW STREAMING
In this episode, we dive into the creative process of the internationally acclaimed, Los Angeles–based choreographer, Raiford Rogers, who has been a central force in the city’s dance scene since the early 1990s. A two-time recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts Choreographer Fellowship, he has created numerous ballets with prominent musicians and dancers around the globe. The episode follows him and his company from the early rehearsal process their opening night at The Luckman, and highlights the tremendous work and dedication it takes to bring a ballet to life.

Students in Art 4680: Problems in Advanced Design, taught by Lecturer Becca Lofchie, transformed Raymundo T. This is the last week to see A Tender Excavation, currently on view at The Luckman Gallery, before its international debut at the Centro Cultural Tijuana - CECUT @cecut_mx . We have been honored to collaborate with Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions @welcometolace on this incredible exhibition that approaches research-based artist practices through propositions of alternative histories. We are excited for LACE as this marks a significant milestone in their nearly 50 year history.
