@shahaddahjack is Toronto’s first youth poet laureate, and I was lucky enough to get to shoot with her this weekend at Toronto’s iconic Regent Park public housing project. This neighbourhood has been home to some truly world class artists since it was built in the ’40s, and as the whole block is slated for demolition soon, I’m glad we got to capture this bit of the city’s creative history before it’s gone forever.
This is still my favourite self-portrait ever, looking into a vat of crystal meth in the Sierra Madres. Feels like another lifetime. Sinaloa, Mexico, 2019.
After 62 days on the road, that’s a wrap! Film crews can be a mixed bag, and if you get stuck on one with the wrong people it can be a nightmare. Luckily this squad absolutely crushed it, while also being some of the coolest people I can imagine spending 7 weeks in a suburban Marriott with. Plus I met a dog named Louis. #filmmaking #documentary #crew
Where the desert meets the suburbs, coyotes are the only ones still using these abandoned post-covid office parks. Anyone want to shoot an apocalypse film?
