Spotted my piece Dioscuri @whitakermuseum in their peaceful and elegant Reflect and Respond room last weekend. Glad to see she’s resting peacefully in a beautiful spot
What a beautiful day @whitakermuseum launching This is the Place shed with @boffwhalley and co. Finally got chance to see the new exhibitions, love @margebradshawphoto celebration of trans footballers, particularly love the piece featured in the first image here and the handkerchiefs. @judewainwright_ work was everything I knew it would be, completely beguiling and joyous, a teeny bit macabre but mostly magical. The way she’s painted the Whitaker in is just brilliant. The coloured pencil drawings are my favourites. Please make a storybook Jude!
We’ve been hard at work for the past few weeks preparing this lovely little shed for the launch of This is the Place @whitakermuseum . A youth led project which has explored the history of Whitaker Park through sound, graphic art and conversation. Come to the launch this Sunday at 1pm so you can experience it all in your face and ear holes @boffwhalley@caseyorrphoto@organbob@gemmaouten@loureedsreluctantmuse_
Last couple of days filming in Ireland with @ikesmith for his Flowering Dusk project. Locations around Wicklow- Blessington and Powerscourt Falls, channelling Ella Young and the Celtic revivalists. Making fairy structures and totems, filming, falling off walls, lying in the reeds, drinking Achill whiskey, telling tales by the fire and feeling suitably small and insignificant in the midst of the awesome towering beauty of it all. Thank you Ireland, everyone we met was kind.
Thanks @lindarosewood@noahrose_artist@selmamakela for advice and @itsjudeokay for costumes.
With @ikesmith filming at Carrowmore yesterday then in our beautiful ancient accommodation in Wicklow which used to belong to Irish artist Patrick Scott
The final week of emergent @thingpower and I had to cheat a bit because I ran out of time and this piece I made last year, Binary Codexxx just seems to fit the hole.
It relates to Ashby’s black box theory - an enclosed system that you can’t take apart to understand, only input and measure output to gain understanding of…which got me thinking about human sexuality, what turns us on and off and how it’s a mysterious thing which we understand about another person through trial and error over time…and the need to fall into a kind of entropy, the lack of control necessary to feel something so unbridled…and from that, creation or euphoria. Or something
