ROX JANUARY DUMP January can be a tough one for events, but the team pulled through for a record breaking one and I couldn’t be prouder ❤️‍🔥 Getting over 2000 people through the door to @cunexttuesdaybtn in Jan was a huge achievement and a testament to the hard graft of the whole ROX team- especially @ttashaaaaaaaa @tillyxcoughlin @joejbradwell @trinityrosetate 🫶🏼 Running this stuff with a group of mates is a real dream. This week I made probably the biggest single decision of my life so far! @lukebrightonrox and I signed the paperwork beginning my journey as the new owner of @roxpromotions This feels totally surreal to say. Here’s a bit about how it happened to anyone who may be interested! I started working for @boundarybtn 2.5 years ago as an intern during my 1st year at Uni. Boundary Festival and ROX have always worked very closely and I was given the opportunity to run @thealleybtn the DnB room two of @cunexttuesdaybtn the biggest Tuesday night in the city! This was the start of my journey into nightlife, I loved (and still do love) booking DJ’s for some of their first club sets After a year the opportunity to become the new general manager of ROX arose. I had the privilege to take over from @janellesultanaa as GM alongside @livs_f_ and @lola.llamara . So much love for all these 3, very hard workers and a pleasure all the way! The last year running the best club nights in Brighton in this role has been unforgettable. And then this ownership opportunity came up- something I never dared to dream of honestly! And there’s one guy that I owe it all to: @lukebrightonrox If you don’t know, Luke has been the most undeniable force in Brighton event promotion for at least the last 12 years. It has been an unimaginable honour to be able to learn from this man and I will be forever grateful for the lessons and trust he has given me along the way- from that first internship to this most recent step it has all been Luke. On Thursday we launched a club night 🤯 After months of long work - planning the concept, finding a venue, building the decorations by hand, postering, flyering, designing socials, messaging, knocking on doors etc etc - Y2K finally launched and it was mad. @y2kbrighton 💿👽❤️‍🔥 I can’t even begin to explain how much it meant to see so many beautiful faces enjoying their night. Thank you so much to everyone who came through and packed the place out 🙏🏼Hopefully this is just the beginning! Starting it up with my mates @livs_f_ @lola.llamara @lukebrightonrox @a.imz has been a dream, along with the rest of the legendary @roxpromotions family 🫶🏼 Come join us every Thursday at Patterns - and you might want to arrive early 🙃🕺🏼
