Today, we are proud to spotlight Usman Elijah Godwin, popularly known as King Wonder- a young musician, songwriter, and advocate for hope whose story reflects the power of resilience, passion, and purpose.
A graduate of the Jabi School for the Blind in Abuja, King Wonder is currently preparing to study Mass Communications at Nasarawa State University. Although he was not born blind, he lost his sight at the age of 17 due to underlying glaucoma complications.
His journey with blindness is also deeply personal, as several members of his family, including his father and uncles, experienced vision loss later in life.
Despite this life-changing experience, King Wonder refused to allow blindness define the limits of his dreams.
With a deep love for music that began long before he lost his sight, he has continued to channel his passion into songwriting, singing, and playing musical instruments. Today, he uses music as a powerful tool to spread messages of positivity, love, hope, and inclusion, which he did as the guest artist during our documentary screening event in April.
Through his talent and determination, King Wonder reminds us that disability does not diminish potential.

Today, we look back on our Hearing Aid & Assistive Care Intervention Project carried out in Owerri, Imo State, in 2017.
During the 2-day intervention, over 30 students were assessed by a team of professional audiologists who conducted hearing examinations, provided diagnoses, recommended treatments, and later fitted hearing aids for students who required them.
This intervention helped ensure that students living with mild to severe hearing loss could enjoy a more inclusive and supportive learning experience.
Projects like this reflect our long-standing commitment to promoting accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunities for Persons With Disabilities, especially children and students.
Because every child deserves the opportunity to learn, communicate, and thrive.
The goal remains clear: Leave No One Behind.
Where should we take this project to next?

Inclusion is often communicated in small but intentional details. From accessibility support to thoughtful event design, creating spaces where everyone can participate meaningfully should never be an afterthought.
We are still learning, improving, and growing in what true inclusion looks like, but every intentional step matters.
As you swipe through, we hope this sparks ideas and conversations on how more events can become more accessible, welcoming, and inclusive for all.
What is one accessibility plan you want event organisers to include in events?

Bringing the SEEN, HEARD AND INCLUDED documentary to life was just the beginning of a much bigger conversation.
Looking back at these videos- the nods, the shared insights, and the energy during our panel on EdTech for disability inclusion, it’s clear that the momentum for accessible education is only growing.
But, we aren’t stopping here; the dialogues sparked during this screening are fueling several upcoming projects you won't want to miss. Make sure to follwo @lthinitiative and stay tuned for upcoming interventions and projects.

We’re proud to see Seen, Heard & Included making national conversations through media coverage.
What started as a documentary screening for LTH’s 10-year journey became a powerful call for inclusive education and disability inclusion in Nigeria.
Through storytelling, dialogue, and technology-focused conversations, we reminded the world that accessibility is a right, not a privilege.
Thank you to the media platforms amplifying these important stories and helping push inclusion forward. #SeenHeardIncluded #DisabilityInclusion #InclusiveEducation #LTHat10
The media is a key partner in information dissemination and national orientation and in a bid to create a more inclusive society, we are thankful to NEWS CENTRAL for covering our documentary screening event.
Keep sharing the news about disability inclusion.

Some people may call them “beneficiaries.”
But I’ve never seen them that way.
I see them as co-creators of Let’s Talk Humanity Initiative.
When this journey began in 2015, the Tudun Maliki project wasn’t something I built for them, it was something we built together, from scratch. From day one, these incredible men and women showed up, worked, believed, and shaped what Let’s Talk Humanity has become.
This project has always been about true inclusion
Not charity. Not pity. But shared ownership.
Today, many of them have become teachers, graduating top of their classes(from universities, colleges, polytechnis), returning to pour into the next generation of students with disabilities. Without me being physically present all the time, they’ve taken leadership, kept the Assistive Tech Labs running, evolving, and alive.
I don’t feel like a saviour, “helping” them.
I feel like someone who was given the privilege to co-create alongside extraordinary people.
People like Mr. Ibrahim who was the he guidance counsellor back in 2016, who may be blind, but sees the world with a depth and clarity that inspires me every time. Now a Vice Principal, and rightfully so. A very brilliant and articulate man.
Saifullah, who is meticulous and precise, reminding me that vision has nothing to do with physical sight.
Surreya who never gave up even after she failed JAMB three times prior to ICT training from our centre.
To every teacher, every sign language interpreter, every quiet force behind this work, thank you so much for being cocreators of this success story.
This story has never been mine alone.
Here’s to what we’ve built…
and to the next 10 years of creating, together.

I haven’t yet found the right words to describe what Friday meant to me.
It wasn’t just a documentary screening.
It was an unveiling for me
It felt like I was finally sharing my child with the world- a child I had kept kept hidden for over 10 years.
This event was a trip down memory lane for me.
I remembered the efforts, sweat and tears that had gone into this work.
This impact journey of 10 years that began in a the special school in Tudun Maliki, Kano state with the sole aim of creating access for students with disabilities has now directly impacted over 16,500 PWDs in Kano.
This event was not just about me, it was about my team that has worked tirelessly with me to make this passion a reality.
It was about my family that has stood by me through the journey and most of all, it was about the thousands of students, staff and alumni that have not just been beneficiaries but co-creators of the success story of Tudun Maliki Special Education School.
The event may be over
The applause is loud and our passion is still burning.
We have spent the first 10 years figuring out what works.
There is more to come in the next 10 years- growth, expansion and impact at scale
Till every Child with a disability can have access to world class education with assistive technology.
My gorgeous suit from @jamalfarisofficial loved it! And my confident look by @akinwumi_mua . #seenheardandincluded #10yearsofimpact #LTHI
