What is a wine club? I have struggled with this, as most wine clubs are branded as exclusive spaces and that’s just not interesting to me. Nor is it what I think of when I think of a ‘club’—I think of treehouses and friends and fun! I want a club to be inclusive space not exclusive space.
So, I stared thinking of a wine club as both subscription and curation.
Subscription like a CSA box, or community supported agriculture, because yes, I’ll be honest, getting wine directly to you in December and July is extremely helpful for this business. It means I can pay my most expensive bills of the year—grapes and glass.
Curation like a magazine, as, of course, it is me putting it together for you! When people ask me why I make wine I often joke that it is my foolishly chosen creative pursuit. But that’s what it is! And that’s what the club will be, a curated space for my creative curiosities. And I want to bring my community into this space of creative curiosities and hopefully build more.
