6 weeks ago this truck was nothing more than a pile of parts, late nights, long days, and a vision. This weekend at Holley LS Fest West, we may not be out making passes like we planned, but that doesn’t take away from what this build represents. To bring something like this from the ground up in 6 weeks and have it here, on display, with people stopping by all weekend to check it out — that’s something to be proud of. The best part of this event, though, is getting to catch up with friends we only get to see once a year. Bench racing, telling stories, and being surrounded by some of the best people in this community reminds you what it’s really all about. After multiple weeks of 16+ hour days, we’re officially on the road to @holleylsfest 🤘🏼 To be honest… 6 weeks just isn’t enough time for a build at this level. We’re close, but a couple more weeks and this thing would be dialed. That said, we pushed hard and made it happen to get here and I can't thank my friends and family enough for the help. I want to give a special shoutout to @avery.holden for staying till midnight or 1am multiple nights, weekends, and work nights, in a row to get to this point. Your an absolute stud brother! 👊🏼 Unfortunately, a couple things didn’t fall into place. We ordered our 9 Lives Racing wing a little too late and it didn’t make it in time, and we didn’t quite get the truck fired before we left. Plan is to get that handled in Vegas with an ECU update and get everything sorted trackside. We also were not able to get an al9gnment on this thing before we left. Huge shoutout to @r_d_performance_fabrication for coming through with a VERY last minute startup tune to help get us this far — seriously appreciate it 🙏🏼 Hoping we can get everything finalized once we hit Vegas. At the end of the day, we’re just pumped to be heading out, see our friends and family, and be part of the LS Fest weekend. Last week my dad and I got the @suspensionengineering 4-link installed and knocked out 🔧🔥 Huge shoutout to @maxplowman_built for getting us set up with the kit — everything fit exactly how it should and the install went smoother than we could’ve asked for. Always appreciate parts that are actually built with the installer in mind 👌 Also big thanks to Chris and Clifford over at @vikingperformance for coming in clutch and making sure we had the rear coilovers in time. That order was definitely last minute, but they made it happen and kept this build moving. We’re one step closer… and this thing is about to get real interesting 😈 3 days left until we need to be on the road to @holleylsfest . I wish I had one more weekend as this truck hasn't even started yet. But we don't, so it's time to crack down and finish up this wiring so we can get a tuner in our ECM. We know it’s been a little quiet on the update photos lately… truth is, we’ve been putting in a ton of work, just not the kind that really shows up in pictures. A lot of behind-the-scenes progress that’s going to pay off in a big way soon 👊 That said, we’ve got something we’re really excited about. We’d like to officially welcome @suspensionengineering on board as a new partner! They reached out asking about our rear suspension plans, and to our surprise, hooked us up with their brand new 4-link kit they just released 🤯 Huge thanks to their team for the support—this is a big upgrade for the truck, and we’re beyond pumped to get it installed and dialed in. I guess you could say things are getting pretty wide 😏 Finally getting a real sense of how aggressive this truck is about to look. The new fenders and bedsides from @advfiberglass are going to completely change the stance of this thing. It’s not just wider… it’s meaner, lower, and built to stand out. Got the @aerocatch hood pins installed as well. Clean, functional, and way better than the old school look. Little details like that really start tying everything together. 27 hours between Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday… and yeah, I’m feeling it today 😅 Waking up for work this morning was brutal. But I made some serious progress. Got the bed sprayed with Raptor Liner, knocked out the install on the @holleyperformance Terminator X Max, got the 12.3” Holley Pro Dash in, and put a BIG dent in the wiring. It’s finally getting to that point where there’s no more messing around… this thing needs to run THIS weekend. Huge thanks to Justin at Pronghorn Auto Glass for coming through and getting the glass installed today 🤝. He hooked us up with ALL new glasses on every side, and even tinted it for us. Another big weekend of progress on the GMC. We were able to get the new 4.10 rear differential installed and finish up motor assembly with pushrods and the BTR shaft rocker kit. Slowly but surely this thing is coming together. This week the goal is to finish the rear axle with new Baer Brakes, new calipers, and a B&M rear differential cover so we can get the rear completely wrapped up. The bed sides and fenders shipped Friday, so hopefully they show up this week and we can start getting the exterior buttoned up too. Next weekend the plan is to start wiring the Holley Terminator X Max and Pro Dash, and if everything goes smooth, I’m hoping we can have this thing running within the next two weeks. Another busy Saturday in the shop and we finally knocked out a bunch of things that have been on the list. First up was getting the @speedengineering exhaust installed. This setups is their 1-3/4 long tube headers with their new X pipe kit and turndown exhaust system. Im really happy with how it fits and tucks up under the truck. Should sound as good as it looks once this thing is running. Next was getting the @msdperformance Dynaforce starter installed. One of those parts you hope you never have to think about again once it’s in, but it’s nice knowing it’s a solid piece and will allow consitant starting in all scenarios. After that, I got the 3800 stall converter from @torque_converter_rebuilders installed in the transmission and transmission installed. Big thanks to Art for always taking care of me and getting this buikt quickly. This should really wake the truck up once we start putting some power down. I was also able to get the new cooling stack and the front chassis harness installed, which was a pretty big step forward for the front of the truck. Finished the day by starting to remove the 3.73 drum rear so we can swap in the 4.10 disc rear. Slowly but surely checking things off the list and getting closer to hearing this thing run. This new catch can / coolant reservoir / overflow combo is the second piece we’ve gotten from him, and just like the first one, the workmanship and quality are absolutely phenomenal.
