It’s been some time since my last post. Cos January was really a month of prayer 🙏🏻 and finding our knees on the floor as a couple. Valley times are difficult but His mercy and goodness are there to meet us as well. My wife’s Birthday 🎂 was a highlight! One of the few family photos we took together. My wife’s a gem 💎 She is the muscle 💪🏼 for me to have the ability to flex things into place, that’s how the Bible says it. She is Ezer, one that provides necessary strength, it fuels partnership. This was our cycling trip that spanned about 65-75km. We travelled to Edgefield to find @eugene_tyx , our part time 🤡 EPL player out of commission for a few months with an injured shoulder. We prayed for him and gave him good vibes with our fellowship. The journey there was tough with torrential rain 🌧️ beating down on us from the start of Tanah Merah route all the way to Pasir Ris. But am glad to have buddy @maxho629 to rough it out with me and glad we held on cos we ended it with on more buddy @basilchai89 to feast on ungodly food 🥘 at our usual stop at Serangoon. Went to the North to meet brother @maxho629 to cycle. It has been a long time since waking up 5am 🕔 to travel abt an hour to Yishun on my trusty Hauladay 🚲 Went to Sembawang hot spring for the first time then toward south west to eat waffletown! We will travel to eat 😋
A bit of a star struck 🤩 day to meet @jonthomasbjj in a seminar presented by @fieldassembly . What was shared were fundamental yet high level concepts to rethink abt our initial instinctive response to guard passing. Hearing him away from YouTube is really different. He is informed and very clear in his teaching objectives. Very appreciative to experience this seminar as a learning student. Thank you Prof Jon.
BKK Day 5, Today is BJJ DAY. We always try to make it an effort to visit another country’s gym. And with @stopitkev that’s an added motivation. Gym was nice 👍🏼 and had a high floor venue (20th floor) Can almost see the landscape of BKK from its window 🪟 Everyone rolled so well and respectful. BKK Day 4 - Bang Kechao with @klooksg was a delight. Pi Two (Lady in yellow) was our guide throughout and she was the human vitamin energizing us to feel the rustic side of Bangkok. The cycling 🚴🏼 was definitely a highlight, she brought us to try the village mee keow at 50 baht wow 🤩 and it was delicious. Jude my son did give an initial 9/10 then slowly the count went down as his social battery also depleted. I would recommend all to this side of BKK. Charming ah … Jude cycled with a smile on his face and that made my day as a dad that organized this trip 🫂 To all parents, that parenting will never be something you graduate or find an end point to, it keeps on keeping on, always on our toes. BKK Day 3 - Went for a quick shopping 🛍️ at Siam Center. Always like the clothes at Absolute Siam, their local designers are really creative. Jude followed me unwillingly cos he really doesn’t like shopping but he tries. Ate some Thai delicacies at the food court, Jude had some delicious wanton mee. Then more shopping to grab wifey’s loot from paragon. At dinner we met our dear friends @joxop@eradiva@myraloke for dinner. I think when overwhelmed Jude and I do turn into our introvert best to cope with situation, but we are both ENFP??? BKK Day 2 - Started off at @frans.thailand . We slept till the sun burn 🔥 our asses and off we go for brunch. The food is tasty as ever, will visit again before flying back. My son and I are avid gamers, chanced upon a retro game shop near Silom area, away from city and had some jappy vibes but in a residential area (That’s Jude imitating Kirby). Bought some 3DS games (all not working 😔 need to fix in sg) When the night fell we go watch a movie 🍿 Shared with Jude that in Thailand 🇹🇭 before you watch a movie, we will need to stand for their national anthem. He stunned 😳 however when it happened, none did it, maybe 🤔 so in the best bah. An eventful day. My son really has my dna. Some scene captures from yesterday. So thankful for @haroldinhobjj and @pandaramic for their firm pragmatic approach to imparting a skill like jiu jitsu. Both like a side A and side B of a solid cassette tape both great in different ways. Thank you “all” who have rolled with me, be it rough, casual or chill, you have made me better and must get even better now 🤡 For those wanting to try a sport after 40, with not start with Jiu Jitsu, it is fun and methodical. What helps is the community, what perfect strangers at first becomes bosom friends that do life with you, some even serve you sweets 🍫 for your work projects @weiboon_chua@dessert_island_ .
