It’s a trigger for most parents, and I’m sure you know the feeling well! 🫠🫠 These phrases help the whole family, because they increase respectful communication all around! 👏 Different strategies will fit different kids and situations, and that’s ok! These phrases help to: 🔁 prompt kids to try again! (A simple “oop, try again please” or “your message is getting lost” can work wonders to reset!) 💙 consider the need behind their attitude! Are they exhausted? Disappointed? Are they a persistent, spirited kiddo seeking to understand your rationale? Consider the need behind the “back talk” when you can. 💕💕 ✅ set boundaries!! All feelings are ok, all behaviors are not! How we treat people and talk to others matters. Kids need limits and it’s important to hold boundaries. “I’m not comfortable with how you’re talking to me. I’m going to step away and come back in a few minutes.” Or “It’s OK to be frustrated and how we talk to people also matters.” What phrases help support you and your kids with back talk?! Share below, we’d love to know! Remember!! One size doesn’t fit all, and kids’ temperaments and needs vary widely. Remember that what clicks for one child may not click for another! 🙋🏻‍♀️ Hi, I’m Beth Ann! I’m an elementary principal turned mom of three with degrees in psychology and education. I share low prep activities and positive parenting strategies for moms of spirited kids. Teaming up with @eatsimpli to share the easiest Earth Day craft for kids! 🌎🌱 The sprouts grow quickly (this was just 7 days of growth using SIMPLi’s Regenerative Organic Certified chia seeds!), which makes this a perfect nature craft for learning at home or school! Fill a cup with soil, sprinkle SIMPLi chia seeds on top, water daily, and place in sunlight. For extra fun, attach a photo of your child so the sprouts look like they’re growing from their head! And don’t stop with the craft - chia seeds are one of the best plant-based sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which support brain development, focus, and overall growth in kids! I love adding them to yogurt and smoothies! #SIMPLiPartner #NatureCrafts #kidsactivitiesathome #earthdayactivities

Leftover chocolate eggs from Easter? Here’s an easy way to use them 🌷 Just add a few on top of @antoninasgf_bakery gluten-free cupcakes and you instantly have a spring dessert that feels festive and special. #antoninaspartner 🐣 They taste homemade, look beautiful on the table, and I love that they’re gluten-free, peanut-free, and nut-free, which makes them such a helpful option when hosting guests with dietary needs. With my twins’ birthday coming up, I always keep a box of these on hand for parties so I have a safe option for friends with gluten or nut allergies. Just thaw for about 30 minutes and they’re ready to serve. 👏👏👏 #glutenfreedessert #antoninas #springdesserts #allergyfriendly

Opening day at @hersheypark in @thesweetestplaceonearth did not disappoint! Huge thanks to Hershey for having us - here are a few things we loved… 🎡 fun themed rides for all ages! My 7 year old daughter is a daredevil and loves the big coasters (I get to ride with her 🙈), but there’s a ton of milder coasters + family rides. 🚌 easy transportation - several resorts including @hersheylodge provide free shuttles to the park 📲 fantastic app - we’ve done many of the big US theme parks and this is by far the best app and interactive map we’ve used. You can filter rides by height and thrill level to find options perfect for your fam 🤯 🍫🥨 SNACKS - had the best hot pretzels we’ve ever had in our lives and the Philly cheesesteaks were 👏 📍amazing location - we added a 2 night stay in Hershey, PA onto the end of our DC road trip! Worked perfectly!! What questions do you have about visiting Hersheypark?! Drop any questions below! I’ll also put together a blog post with more details and tips for visiting Hershey + DC as a road trip! There’s so much to do (Hershey Museum, Hershey Gardens, Hershey Chocolate World, a zoo, and more!) - definitely deserves a spot on your family bucket list! #hersheypark #hersheypa #roadtripwithkids #travelwithkids #familytravelideas

Hosting with kids doesn’t have to be complicated to feel special, and we’re teaming up with @smfchicken to share the best ideas! 🤍 Easter Menu Idea: 💚Easy 4-ingredient homemade chicken nuggets made with Springer Mountain Farms chicken 🐰Bunny milk (the cutest, easiest surprise!) 🥕Simple carrot napkin place setting Easy Homemade Chicken Nuggets (just 4 ingredients): - 1 lb Springer Mountain Farms chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces - 6-8 tbsp melted butter - 1 cup panko bread crumbs - 1 tsp Italian seasoning How to make: -Preheat oven to 400°. - Dip chicken pieces in melted butter, then coat in the mixture of panko + Italian seasoning. - Place on a wire cooling rack placed on a baking sheet, or a parchment-lined baking sheet, and bake for 18–20 minutes, until golden and cooked through. Bunny milk: 🐰 Draw a bunny face on a glass with a sharpie or wet erase marker. Cut a marshmallow diagonally to create ears, dip the sticky side in sprinkles, and place on the rim of the glass. Fill with milk! You don’t need complicated recipes or decor to create special memories with kids.
