Took me a minute to post this as it’s been such a wild week!
AOTY and Country AOTY for Cowboy Carter wow! So proud of everyone involved in this project. Over the past few years I’ve had the privilege of working with many of the writers and producers on Cowboy Carter, and if there’s one thing I know now for sure now, it’s that Beyoncé knows talent, and knows where to look- often in places no one else is looking. Never have I been in such musical rooms with artists who create from the soul. Working on this project gave me so much life.
I’m so endelessly proud of Beyoncé,
@marielgomerez and everyone at Parkwood and all the creatives involved- for what you’ve all achieved. Beyoncé’s resilience, her fight, her storytelling, her vision for her music and beyond is awe inspiring. Making history has never been easy, and the way she just keeps moving forward, and challenging us to keep evolving- through all the rumors, all the hate, she rises above like a true queen.
I posted here my fave snippet from an interview of hers “I’m so glad my daughter got to see this.” It’s easy to imagine a world where Blue could have not seen the day a black women had won this category. At the same time heart wrenching, and yet heart warming that Beyoncé actually made it happen, real change and progress for her babies and I’m proud my lil step baby got to see this moment too! (Slide right to see her adorable text to me after the Grammies🥰)
