This was a great check in on my lifts and for those who might be interested in a sanctioned meet. Yesterday I competed in a power lifting competition @eatonbarbell ! Overall a good experience. Learning to wait and listen for commands is something I need to improve on and what got me in my squat lifts. I trained with one of the best @persistfitnesstraining over three months. Sarah was awesome & I learned so much! Shout out to @beardspiration12 for this video montage, and your support and encouragement along the way. Thanks to @jackson.strength for your encouragement too and for your “if that lift was easy…add more weight” that plays in my head on repeat every time I lift. It was inspiring to be among powerlifter’s of all ages (youngest was 9 and oldest was 70)! I am blessed to be able to push myself in new ways and grow in different areas. Until next time!

5 years ago we (@lovingchronicles , @ericaspalmer and @5eleven ) launched Run United. We didn’t know how many people would show up. We just knew we wanted to create an inclusive walk/run club. The energy was high and we had @fleetfeetcincy , @originalitees & @drinkbodyarmor as sponsors. Since Day 1, the way our running community has come together has fulfilled us all. November 14th is World Diabetes Day…we’ve acknowledged this day since 2005 when our middle daughter was diagnosed at 4 years old…then again in 2012 when our oldest daughter was diagnosed at 17 years old. I may not post about it as much since my girls are living their best lives and managing their self care but this Momma Bear will always be ready to jump in for my girls and to advocate for those who can’t advocate for themselves. Thankful for advancements in technology so folks with Type 1 diabetes can live a better life and still hopeful for a cure.
Happy double nickels birthday to my fun loving, nearly always go with the flow man who reels me in when needed, listens to my endless venting and is my biggest cheerleader! We had a fun weekend where we didn’t take a single photo but lived in the moment! Happy birthday my love!
