🌱🎉 What a week!
Nestled beneath the old growth forest in Oregon, our Community Retreat at Camp Collins was filled with laughter, tears, deep connection, and the kind of community that reminds us no one heals alone.
Over five days, participants gathered to rest, reflect, move, share, and rediscover resilience through mindfulness, adaptive movement, nutrition, art, and meaningful conversation.
One participant shared that the retreat “changed her life,” — moments like these remind us why this work matters so deeply. Thank you to every participant, facilitator, volunteer, and supporter who helped create a space rooted in belonging, healing, and hope. 💚

Self-compassion isn’t the same as letting ourselves off the hook.
It’s a skill we can practice — one that helps us meet stress, self-criticism, blame, and insecurity with more kindness, steadiness, and care.
Join us for our next free Learning Lab, The Neuroscience of Compassion, featuring Dr. Yoona Kang, Director of the Compassion and Well-being Lab at Rutgers University-Camden.
Together, we’ll explore what research shows about self-compassion and how it can support stress reduction, resilience, confidence, relationships, and nervous system regulation after brain injury.

Brain injury often brings unique psychological challenges. Compassion enables us to meet our suffering with kindness rather than harsh judgment and to extend understanding toward others facing similar challenges. Dr. Yoona Kang, Director of the Compassion and Well-being Lab, Rutgers, joins Dr. Kyla Pearce to discuss the science of compassion and simple practices to develop it. It's our newest Learning Lab on May 20th, 2026. 6 pm ET. Register for free at LINK IN BIO. #neuroscience #selfcompassion #braininjury
Healing after brain injury involves resilience, connection, and whole-person care. With support from the @NumotionFoundation , @LoveYourBrain is expanding access to holistic neurorehabilitation by equipping clinicians nationwide with tools like adaptive yoga and trauma-informed mindfulness to better support people living with brain injury. The impact reaches far beyond the training itself, creating a ripple effect for patients across the country.

🧠 What if compassion could support healing after brain injury?
After brain injury, it’s common to experience frustration, shame, or self-criticism—especially when life changes in unexpected ways. But what if, instead of pushing those feelings away, we met them with compassion?
✨ Compassion isn’t toxic positivity.
It doesn’t ignore pain—it helps us hold it with care.
And research shows it can support:
• Emotional regulation
• Mental flexibility
• Connection and belonging
• The brain’s ability to heal and rewire
