It‘s a wonderful day to explore a museum! I recently visited the National Art Center in Tokyo for the YBA exhibition. The vast space, once filled with innovative art (not anymore tho🤣), was truly an unforgettable experience. If you're in Tokyo or nearby, definitely consider stopping by on a sunny afternoon—it's absolutely worth it! #YBA #artinTokyo #museumday #2026

I went to the MOT today to see an exhibition of Sol LeWitt. It was a well-organized and planned exhibit, but instead of his familiar works, one unfamiliar artist's name caught my attention. Haji Oh is the third-generation Zainichi artist, and her installation was breathtaking. Most of the large installations were prohibited from photo-taking, so I can't share those experiences; however, it is worth looking up her works. After the satisfaction of seeing new art, I went to the SKWAT to chill. What a great day! #sollewitt #HajiOh #skwat #artinTokyo #2026

Last Saturday, I had an amazing time at the 14th Seoul Migrant Art Festival, where I got to be the photographer capturing all the colorful moments. My focus was on an incredible group of children who dazzled everyone with their performances and paraded with joy under the fabulous choreography of my friend Emma and his team. The festival took place in the 대림동 (Daelim area), the heart of the Chinese district in Seoul—it’s kind of like a smaller version of Chinatown in San Francisco, but just as lively I say! Overall, it was a truly unforgettable experience. Sure, there were a couple of oddballs who decided to shout some mean things at the children during the parade—seriously, what’s wrong with those weirdos? But besides those few grumpy bastards, it was a fantastic day filled with laughter, fun, and a warm sense of community. loved every minute of this wonderful event with such lovely participants. yes I really do. 🤟🏼 #seoulmigrantartfestival #artinSeoul #parade #communityart @koulekan #studio863 #2025

I’m bursting with excitement as I reflect on the amazing support from my friends and everyone who stopped by! The recent two-person exhibit at the Place M gallery was a fantastic success! A huge thank you to everyone who sent flowers from afar or made the trip to see the exhibit in person. Everything came together beautifully, thanks to the wonderful team at the gallery and the incredibly humble and kind Seto-san, despite his fame! The historic charm of the gallery was the perfect backdrop for our show. It truly was an honor to showcase my work in such a remarkable space! #artinTokyo #exhibition @placem_tokyo #photoexhibition #전시회 #도쿄전시 #アート展 #アート好きな人と繋がりたい #現代アート #現代アート #東京アート #studio863 #2025

Museum day in Tokyo! Along with my exhibition, I took the time to visit two amazing museums. First up was the MOT (Museum of Contemporary Art) for the Ryuichi Sakamoto exhibit. Everything was fantastic, and I felt so incredibly happy to be there—though there was one little hiccup. Even though I got there right when it opened, I had to wait about 30 minutes in line! It was by far the busiest exhibit I've ever seen! After that, I made my way to the Mori Art Museum for the “Machine Love” exhibit. It had a totally different vibe, but it was definitely worth the visit. I even spotted some familiar names of talented Korean artists, like Anish Yi and Ahyoung Kim, which was a nice surprise! Overall, it was a lovely recovery day for me after all the hustle and bustle of preparing for the show. #museumday #artinTokyo #東京アート #museumofcontemporaryarttokyo #morimuseum #ryuichisakamoto #2025

Just realized I haven‘t shared any updates on my recent projects. Anyway, I’m really excited about my upcoming duo exhibition with my old pal June Lee! We’ll be showcasing our work at Place M in Tokyo. “Mar. 10 - 16”. The details are below, and I’ll be in Tokyo the whole time, so if you’re in town, definitely stop by and check it out! Let me know if you want to hang out. Would love to see some familiar faces. Can’t wait to see you! “This exhibition is an invitation to reconnect with nature, to hear its subtle echoes before they fade. By embracing sustainable materials and processes, Jay and June highlight not only the beauty of the natural world but also the responsibility humanity holds in protecting it. Echoes of Nature serves as a visual bridge between places, reminding us that no matter where we are, our actions toward the Earth are deeply interconnected. It is a call to awareness, a visual hymn for the Earth, and a reminder that every small act of care reverberates through time” #artinTokyo #exhibition @placem_tokyo #photoexhibition #전시회 #도쿄전시 #アート展 #アート好きな人と繋がりたい #現代アート #現代アート #東京アート #studio863 #2025

In my current exhibited work “The Deniers”, I am aiming to symbolize the attitudes of those who deny the climate crisis. Following Trump's withdrawal from the Paris agreement and the subsequent four years of inaction, the long-term consequences are significant. By mapping the locations of climate change deniers and visually representing their disbelief, I hope to highlight their ignorance to the world. #art #artinseoul #galleryondo #scupture #thedeniers #weathercrisis #studio863 #2024

Come check out the awesome new group exhibition at the @galleryondo in Insadong, Seoul. I'll be at the gallery on the 17th from 11am to 6pm. If you're in the area, stop by and say hi! Can't wait to see you there! <<This exhibition showcases the works of 10 sculptors who have gathered the sweat, time, and deep contemplation poured into their studios under the blazing sun, capturing the creative energy of midsummer. “Summer, Pieces” celebrates sculptural works that have blossomed in the heart of the season. Each artist approaches the theme of “works in summer” with a unique perspective and sensitivity, unraveling their stories through various materials and techniques. This exhibition reexamines the sculpture’s formal possibilities and inherent meanings as a medium, offering viewers a fresh visual experience. The sculptural works shine even brighter under the intense heat, going beyond mere visual expression to explore the artist’s essence working in the sweltering summer and the emotions embedded within. Each piece reflects the diverse aspects of how each artist engages with summer—its heat, brightness, and the calmness found in the shade—allowing viewers to experience the multifaceted emotions of the season through these works. This exhibition reveals how sculptors interpret and express summer in their own artistic language. Through “Summer, Pieces,” we share the summer they felt, the time they experienced, and the unique sculptural beauty they created. In the midst of summer, we listen to the stories these works tell and experience the sensory resonance each sculpture creates, inviting you to immerse yourself in the season’s emotions. This exhibition, like a grand sculptural piece in itself, is a significant artistic celebration that captures the essence of sculpture even in the sweltering heat.>> #ᴀʀᴛɪɴsᴇᴏᴜʟ #galleryondo #sculptors #groupexhibition #summerartshow #2024

I had an amazing museum day in NYC! The Whitney Biennial was absolutely fantastic, with thought-provoking pieces covering a wide range of social issues. The diverse selection of artists and artworks left me feeling incredibly inspired and satisfied. However, my visit to the Met was a bit disappointing, especially the Korean Lineage exhibit. I'm hoping for improvement after their upcoming facade project. #museumday #artinnyc #themet #whiteneymuseum #biennale #2024
