🌟big update🌟 today I pack up our gurgaon lovable rebels studio for good. 🥀 I have had the best 1.5 years building this place that many of you considered as your safe third space and that’s something I’ll cherish for life! This is just a pause, as I move to a new house in delhi and set up my personal art studio first. I’ll be able to answer what’s next for Lovable Rebels in a couple of months, as I reset and come back to this project with a fresh mind. 🦦 I love each one of you who has supported this dream and added their love, humour, creativity into the soul of this house, today as we empty the whole place up I can still feel the good aura in here, which is such a rare feeling to have!! 🪩 The future is uncertain but super exciting ✨ I look forward to seeing old faces and new ones at our next space, whenever that happens. 🦋

We discovered Nanku as a human first and then an artist, when @rijul.seth reached out to us to create body art for @tumharananku ’s new album art @pyarnstuff we didn’t realise how much creative freedom we’d get to use the artist himself as our canvas. During the process of meeting him at our studio to dye his hair the night before the shoot we got a first listen at the pop album and knew it was gonna be loved by the audience and stuck in our heads for a while too. It was so much fun working with this whole team as it felt like a true collaboration between a bunch of talented individuals like designer @prxkhxr and photographer @abhibhandhun along with @lovablerebels , all inspiring each other to create a cohesive final look! If you keep swiping on the post you’ll see mentions about his look and the album art in @rollingstonein and @firstpost and at the very end you’ll see my first moodboard created for this look along with a bts video from the night before the shoot when Nanku came over to the studio. Honoured to be a part of the Indian pop culture scene thanks to this team ❣️

Body Art for Nanku’s new album Pyar n’ Stuff. 🪩 For this album artwork we built a playful, textured world around the model. A custom wig with blue hair-dye spikes, two sets of hand-painted press-on nails (one for each hand with a different vibe), the song titles written directly onto the skin with shiny tattoo pens. Temporary tooth gems, scattered glitter, and confetti added the final touches. Every November I start working on my favourite project of the year! It’s the one where I bring together tattoo artists of Indian origin from all around the world to create art for our annual Solidarity Calendar. For the third edition we had 14 artists drawing works on the theme of Bodies and Botanicals, which resulted in this really beautiful calendar! Thanks to all the supporters we were able to raise funds for @chintan.india and also just promote their work in general and talk about this really important matter of good O2 for all citizens. We sold over 60 calendars in 3 weeks and they were shipped all around the globe, afterwards we were left with a profit of ₹35,000 and 100% of that was donated to Chintan! This post is a few months late but nevertheless here’s me showing my gratitude to all participating artists, everyone who shared about the project and to all the lovely buyers who are now proud owners of this beauty. - Shreya 💞
