Dokumentation "Haut/Haut" The project Haut/Haut is an interactive installation that deals with the question of alternatives to synthetic plastic and explores the use of the bioplastic agar-plastic in an object-based context. The object, which is entirely covered with bioplastic and represents a kind of speculative organism, can be entered by crawling from one side. Inside, the object and material can be explored primarily through the sense of touch. Touching in the right places controls the sound experience and transforms the one-sided contact into a dialogue. In this way, Haut/Haut questions our relationship with plastic and other everyday materials and speculates on the possibility of an almost symbiotic and empathic relationship with materials that have their origins in living organisms. Agar agar, Vegetable glycerine by Lotta Bauer (@lottabauer_ ), made in Germany. This bioplastic is made from agar, glycerine and water, with optional pigments such as iron oxide. Developed within the interactive installation Haut/Haut, it explores agar-based bioplastic as a biodegradable alternative to synthetic plastics, focusing on large-scale experimentation and a more sensitive connection to materials and their origins. Visitors can enter a walk-in object covered in the agar bioplastic, where the material is explored through touch and triggers an interactive sound experience. VENICE TRAVEL AGENCY – DAY 3 · PART 2 ✨ The second part of our Day 3 unfolded along shifting shorelines, tidal rhythms, speculative futures, and collective voices rising from the lagoon. We began by exploring the edges of Sant’Erasmo’s Bacàn area through a tidal walk guided by Gaia Tovaglia (@gaiatovaglia ) and her project “colmare.” With each step, “colmare” invited us to inhabit these in-between spaces intertidal zones that exist only in certain hours, certain moods of the sea. How do we walk through what appears and disappears? What do these temporary lands remember when we leave? How do we acknowledge spaces that refuse permanence, yet hold so much life? We then approached the Bacan Island by boat. After a pause of quiet inhabitation, we entered Lotta Bauer’s (@lottabauer_ ) “Invagency Cruises.” Set in a future where „invasive“ species like the comb jelly are woven into daily life, Invagency Cruises imagines a new kind of journey no longer passive, but participatory. Through immersive storytelling, we travelled through parallels and potential symbioses between humans and comb jellies, blurring the borders between species, sensing other ways of being, drifting, adapting, surviving. We closed the day with a powerful vocal performance by our Sirens, Charlotte Vetter (@charlommm ) and Katharina Steinbüchler. Sirening is an attempt to translate the lagoon’s lamentations into sound maybe understandable, maybe not, but deeply felt. A method of connection, a collective vocal practice that dissolves distance and invites belonging. Use your emotions. Shed your skins. Sharpen your teeth. Wear your unwanted labels as armor. Spread your wings and sing your song. A call to all those who’ve ever been named “the Unknown”: follow the voice, and come closer. Agar Plastic Textiles (Part III) Agar-Plastic Textiles ist ein laufendes Projekt, das Ende 2022 entstand. Es erforscht experimentell und spekulativ die Einsatzmöglichkeiten von Biokunststoff als Alternative zu Textilien vor allem im Bereich der Herstellung von Kleidung. Als ein noch relativ neues Material sind die Eigenschaften nur zu einem Teil bekannt und werden in dieser Arbeit weiter exploriert. Die Eigenschaften dieses Biokunststoffs unterscheiden sich von Textilien und beeinflussen somit auch die Arbeit, den Umgang und die Gestaltung damit. Der Einsatz in Kleidung, die in diesem Falle als Medium funguiert, fördert den Kontakt zwischen Mensch und Material und machen eine Erfahrung und Erforschung dessen am eigenen Leib möglich. #bioplastics #agar #fashion
