Mary Candles is on the wickets! Named in honour of 🥇 national treasure Bob Mortimer’s mysterious Mrs Candles. If you know, you know. If not, imagine "that" house on the street and that eccentric lady that lives in it, a tiny horse that smelled of hot meat, and a toilet seat; all completely true and told with standard Bob M flair, of course. Our new cask-only Mild is here as part of @campaignforrealale May. Smooth, caramel malt, nutty, toffee, easy drinking deliciousness with absolutely no tiny horses involved (that we can prove). This weekend marks one whole month of @lostcausetaproom . Flipping fastest month ever if you ask me. 
 It’s been exciting/nervewracking/mindblowing building something new. 'Will anyone actually want to come?!' has long been playing on our minds. But seeing loads of our Pop Up taproom regulars making the journey over has made our space feel like home straight away. At the same time, we’ve met loads of lovely new faces too, which has been fab! Welcome to the cause, newbies!  Some days have been absolutely heaving. Some have been properly quiet. But that’s all part of the learning curve, init? We’re figuring things out as we go, seeing what works, what people like, what this place can become and how we can build a little community of likeminded folk in a little ol' industrial unit hidden behind Kirkgate train station.  A month in and it is already starting to feel like more than just somewhere to drink beer. People bringing their dogs, kids colouring in on tables, mates catching up, random conversations between strangers, someone popping in for “just one” and staying all afternoon. It's heartwarming and we're so pleased to see it. Did we ever think we'd be full-time publicans AND brewers? I guess we did a bit, and seeing a little dream come to life is wonderful.  And we've got so much more to give: Thursday Nights are officially 'things' nights, with Bingo every 1st Thursday a Quiz every 3rd Thursday Both running early doors (6–8pm), because it is a school night after all. Bring the family, come for a couple of beers, or be home in your pyjamas by 9pm - YESSS!  We’ve also got plans for makers markets, craft events, music, beer tastings and brewery tours… because you are literally in a brewery and it would be nice to chat about what we do here to anyone that wants to listen. Anyway. Thanks for spending this first month with us. Whether you’ve visited once, every weekend, told a mate about us, shared a post, or just cheered us on, we appreciate you loads. Our award-winning beer mat (ta very much @mosaicboardprinters ✌️) recently checked itself in for a well-earned spa break @hoarcrosshallhotel It spent the morning catching some rays on the terrace, floated about a bit in the bubbly pool pretending it didn’t have a care in the world, enjoyed a fancy-schmancy little lunch and fully embraced the art of doing absolutely nowt. After months of faithfully holding pints, soaking up condensation and generally grafting hard, we reckon it’s earned a bit of rest and relaxation tbf. Thanks to everyone that voted for us. Big love 💚🩷✌️

We're super excited with what Nathan & Beth have been doing over in Shipley with The Reconnection and their sister pub @thejunction_baildon - winning pub of the year and creating amazing communities of people after fab beer, so we're buzzing to be over the way chatting all things Lost Cause with them and you!✌️💚🩷

We have the return of @nasilemakmcr whose unreal delicious Malay Street food was an all time hit last time they visited. Satay peanut curry sound like your thing, sambal, dumplings, spring rolls that are fragrant and delicious? This is the menu for you! Honestly they're incredible and we're thrilled they're back! And we're back with new beers, lots of delicious treats and a nice time! This absolute ball of cuteness is Hannah, who'll be here at the tap most days pulling pints and chatting to you lovely lot, and has some incredible events ideas - so keep your eyeballs peeled for those. Hannah is a Larper (ask them all about what that is!), is a fan of getting the hooks out and crocheting and maybe they will wear one of their fab creations soon. Favourite pint? It's def Stone Cold Mojito - didn't even need to ask. We're over the moon to have Hannah on the team, and we're sure you'll fall in love with their infectious enthusiasm and friendliness, too 😍🥰

Phew, firstly we want to thank the absolutely biblical rain for sheeting it down exactly at 4pm as we opened the doors; without that sudden soak, we wouldn't have had absolutely glorious sunshine for the rest of our first evening open. And what. An. Evening. It. Was. It's been so flipping lovely seeing alll of you Whitwood regulars, old friends, new faces and looooaaaads of dogs at our new gaff - totally overwhelming in a really nice way to be perfectly honest. We absolutely didn't expect so many of you, and it's been bloody awesome - and we can't wait to do it all again tomorrow. This time from 12, with pizza from our mates @propergoodpizza serving from noon until the dough is gone (so get down quick if you want a bite!)
