2025 was the most transformative year of my life I think.
I began the year heavily pregnant. In February the Eagles won the super bowl and we had just closed on a house: a mid-century rancher with a big yard situated on a small pond.
We were interested in keeping as much of the original character as possible, but it needed an extensive amount of work. Remediation, restoration, floors, drywall, appliances, etc. Pressingly, our lease was running out, and I was due to have a baby in the beginning of April.
I truly believed there was no way we could finish so much work in time. I was huge, and capable of very little besides sleeping and eating.
The stress of deadlines was enormous, but @k__gray made it happen somehow. Thank you to the friends and family who rolled up their sleeves with us to get coated in wallpaper adhesive, paint, and sheetrock dust, who crawled under our sinks and through our basement.
I had a medically necessary induction in April and gave birth to our *giant* baby. The house was ready in time. I became a mother and started the most important and fulfilling chapter of my life.
Saoirse is huge now. Nearly 9 months and just shy of 20 pounds. She's crawling fast and climbing things. Pulling herself to a standing position on anything she can. She says "Mama" and "Dada". She waves hello to people and animals. We love her so much.
Kevin had surgery in December and is cancer free. His next reconstruction is scheduled for Jan 9, and he's doing really great.
I legitimately feel like the luckiest person on the planet to get to live such a beautiful life surrounded by such beautiful people. Thank you a million times to everyone who pulled together to support us in 2025. We begin 2026 in your debt. All my love.

One thing about me is that I really love Christmas?
To me it’s a holiday about thoughtfulness, ambiance, and being in close quarters with people you love. This one feels really special because it’s my first as a mom :)
I am trying to connect with how magical this time of year is for a child, and how indelible early memories of the holidays can be. I’ve been making so many Christmas-y things for and with my daughter, and thinking fondly on the many special (overtly pagan???) objects and traditions we pass down through generations.
I made these garlands with the notion of them being someone’s Christmas heirlooms one day. Polished and hand-linked jeweler’s brass chainmaille with five “golden” (solid brass) rings connecting the lengths. Solid brass antique reproduction sleigh bells. All made by hand with the intention that it patinas beautifully over time and ultimately lasts forever.
Super limited # of these, but releasing with some other small fun brass goodies.
Dropping tomorrow on ~small business Saturday~ 5pm ET
Saoirse is half a year old today 💫
It's weird to think she won't be a baby forever, or even for very much longer. I'm excited for her to get older, to learn more about who she is, but I'm also squeezing my eyelids shut trying to commit to memory every fleeting phase and moment of her infanthood.
Getting here was hard as hell: prior ruptured ectopic, "geriatric pregnancy", labor!!!! I still wake up every day feeling like each joint in my body has been smashed with hammers 🫠
But I'm so grateful we're all here, and I'm grateful I get to spend this time with her. Thanks in huge part to @k___gray for working his actual ass off to make that possible. For all its legislation around forced birth, this country hates mothers and I hate it right back.
Chains happening soon bc I literally can't afford not to!
On April 6 I gave birth to my daughter Saoirse, my heart outside my body. She's a happy, healthy, and very funny baby. We love her so much.
She's been giving us a pretty easy time as far as newborns go, however it's still a lot of work. Birthing a 9lb 2oz child a couple weeks after moving into a new home we're actively rehabbing is chaotic no matter how you slice it.
My maternity leave is lasting a little longer than I had planned. The two hands I've depended on to run my chain business have been occupied with nursing, pumping, cleaning, rocking.
Though I wouldn't have it any other way, these early months leave me little ability to create or correspond. Thank you for the outpouring of congratulatory messages regarding Saoirse. I've been reading them (often tearfully) when I can, but I'm rarely in the position to respond. Please don't take it personally!
I will return when I'm able-- just know I am happy and well; Saoirse is as perfect as the moon.
It's Father's Day and I wanted to acknowledge Saoirse's dad Kevin: a man who has never held an infant before his own, but who has risen above and beyond his role as a father. Whose love and care for his child is boundless.
Kevin carries the weight of the world on his shoulders without hesitancy. He moves mountains for us. He provides stability for our little family in every sense of the word and I am so grateful.
I've always known that the most important thing I'll ever hand down to my daughter is the model of her parents. She will never have a father-shaped wound in her heart because she will grow up with a dad who is attentive, patient, nurturing, and kind. Forever.
Happy Father's Day to all the good dads out there. I hope the bad ones stub their toes!!!
