Grazie a tutt3 voi che siet3 venut3 a @spaziotredici per condividere con noi questo pomeriggio-sera-notte dedicata al pensiero, alle opere, e alla memoria viva di Mark Fisher. L'abbiamo fatto nel modo più consono per omaggiarlo, ossia attraverso una commistione di linguaggi e pratiche che sfondano il muro tra l'istituzionale e l'informale, tra riflessione teorica e coinvolgimento sensoriale, tra creazione e fruizione. Se è stata una giornata così intensa e appagante, il merito è anche vostro che avete contribuito a rendere viva questa iperstizione, nata su una chat instagram, compiutasi fra le mura di Spazio 13, e con un futuro ancora in divenire. Clip dal mio ultimo show su @radioraheem.milano . Un’ora di suoni in scala di grigi, perché non c’era altra possibilità. Sarà che le giornate sono più corte e più fredde, sarà che tra vita professionale e vita privata al momento non c’è granché di luminoso, sarà che trovo il grigio un bel colore. Come recitava lo slogan della Blackest Ever Black: “no peace, no love, no unity”. Da una coltre fumosa di rumore emergono voci e ritmi. Tra rap e spoken word, tra poesia e flussi di coscienza. Di bianco c’è solo il rumore. Il riverbero moltiplica il suono, come le voci in testa. No cassa dritta, no happy vibez, chi l’ha detto che la musica elettronica deve essere presabbene. Ritmi spezzati, ossessivi, singhiozzanti; come noi d’altronde. Spaceape in “Portal” di Kode9 diceva “I am lost in paranoia’s most beautiful dream”. Mixare è (provare a) costruire portali di suono. Se la jungle è la libidinizzazione dell’ansia (Fisher), l’industrial e i suoi derivati sono la libidinizzazione del malessere. 🚨 RADIO MIX DUMP ALERT 🚨 My friends tell me I should post my abs more often and instead here I am providing delicious music content. In the last month and a half I had the pleasure to play three radio shows, and since I’m a horrible social media manager of myself I always forgot to post clips on time so here is a selection of some personal fav moments from the shows. • These mixes are completely different from each other in regards of genres, BPMs, and mood - which is why I love radio shows, as I feel free to dig into any corner of my musical diet and showcase different shades of my taste. • First mix is from my late May @radioraheem.milano residency. Played an hour of broken rhythms, starting off on an industrial-tinged mood and then shifted to that kind of broken/tribal/UK techno which I fell in love with some 10 years ago and never really had the chance to play out. • The second one is a guest mix for @fade.radio . My dear friend @carlosss____________________ invited me to contribute to his ‘Unquenchable Thirst’ show, asking to dig deeper and play something unusual and/or really dear to me. The result is an introspective, (hopefully) touching and cathartic mix filled with dark ambient, experimental stuff, spoken word, industrial/lo-fi beats (not the hip hop ones) and occasional dub moments. • Last but not least, the June episode of my Lowmotion show, again on radio raheem. Here I ventured into balearic/downtempo terrains, with an overall sunset-over-the-Mediterranean-sea vibe in mind and many tracks I’ve been listening to obsessively over the last few years. • As per usual, link in bio for the full recordings. Berlin, what can I say?! It’s been lovely to come back to the city after (way too) many years. Everything was like I remembered, but at the same time I could see it under a new light. Grateful for having been involved in the Dancecult conference 25 as part of the @ctmfestival and for all the amazing, likeminded people I’ve met. From great presentations during the day to drinks and clubbing together during the night, talking about music and our personal involvement as djs/producers/journalists, this was exactly the academic community I’ve always wanted to be a part of - because researching and theorizing on (electronic) music without living it is just intellectual masturbatI0n. Also it’s been so nice meeting again older and newer friends, and being joined by my sister for the weekend. Spent more money on records and ate more kebabs than I should have, almost never saw the sunlight, walked countless times under the rain but, honestly, would 10/10 do it again.

Last minute Lowmotion show scheduled today for @radioraheem.milano . I’ll be playing this afternoon live from @nodobar , h 19-20. Digging through my record collection and ready to spin some deeper-than-deep house records, and maybe a bit of Detroit techno too - because you know, there’s never a valid reason not to spin Detroit techno. The set will be live streamed on Radio Raheem’s website, as per usual. Friends in Milan, come say hi and have a beer 🍻🎧🎶

PROSPETTIVE TEORICHE, PRATICHE E CULTURALI, curato da @claudia_attimonelli e Caterina Tomeo. Fra i vari e interessanti contributi c’è anche il mio saggio “Deconstruct To Reconstruct. Logic Of Assemblage and Aesthetic of Metamorphosis in Electronic Dance Music”, in cui provo a smontare tutto l’hype intorno alla cosiddetta deconstructed club / conceptronica / post club, sostenendo che, in fondo, tutta l’elettronica dance è sempre stata decostruzionista, concettuale e post-qualcosa. Momento content per dire ai miei followerzzz che domani torno su @radioraheem.milano con una nuova puntata di Lowmotion. Inizialmente volevo fare un set dub only ma visto che siamo in autunno e devo consegnare la tesi di dottorato fra meno di un mese e il mood non è solare e godereccio e vado in onda alle 15 in piena controra, ho cambiato idea e ripiegato su sonorità più deep-malinconico-atmosferiche-dreamy-urban spleen-da scene di film in sLowmotion. Tune in dalle 15 alle 16, ché tanto a quell’ora non avete di meglio da ascoltare.

Se agosto fosse un luogo dello spazio e del tempo, sarebbe un luna park deserto nel primo pomeriggio, col mare da un lato e gli ecomostri dall’altro.

Recording from my last Lowmotion show at @radioraheem.milano is up on the Internet. What was supposed to be an 'emergency vinyl set' bc my pc was broken and I couldn't export the selection I was working on, ended up being a chance to play some of my fav records (the closing duo of that @shanticeleste electro tune & @officialrisingsun 's über-emotional breakbeat one) and genres (read: dub techno). Had fun experimenting with '90s trance played at the wrong speed in the beginning, as well as pushing the pitch fader to the limits of +/- 8 or even 16%, trying to make something new out of the tracks as they were recorded. Was super nervous about messing with transitions and trainwrecking as I don't have a vinyl setup here in Milan to practice, but I guess it's overall a decent enough set to be publicly shared.
