)’( Burning man pt 1/3…. As soon as I turned 18 I knew one thing was for certain, I wanted to go to festivals. Soon after, I set my sights on Burning Man as being the ultimate ‘magnum opus’ during my time going to places like festivals wherein community, love, and connection ruled as tenants so engrained in these environments. I knew wherever my life would take me, that eventually my path would lead to the burn. I felt drawn to the culture, the spirit, the call to invent myself into something greater than myself as I’d known. I’ve traveled to over 40 music festivals across the United States, Canada, and Costa Rica, I’ve swam in sacred spaces and met a plethora of sacred people that have helped me along my journey to this version of myself. Their conversations and laughs echo in my heart. Many of you on Instagram have met me through festivals in fact, and I look back fondly on all my times shared with you all. At 26, I have achieved what I ultimately set out to do during a time when I was just a budding adult into a world of lessons and opportunity. A goal set at a time (18) before i had any sense of just how immense wells of love, trust, community could run. I’d like to say at 26 I have some idea, but truly I find myself in a state of awe repeatedly at the these powerful drivers and tenants of life. A world so different than that I came
This first post is a post wanting to give a great honor to Sawyer and V. These two were some of the first I met within the burner community, and how life would have planned it, I ended up going to my first big burn with both of them. I am grateful to two of the most loving, funny, safe, likeable, and interesting people I’ve met thus far in my journey into the unknown. It is a great privilege that I am to know the both of you. Thank you, I love you
The first days of the burn were filled with spurts of rain, making things a little muddy, but by Wednesday the rain had subsided into beautiful cooled down weather for the next 6 days of our visit our to Black Rock City. The first few images and videos I’m posting here give the smallest look into a tapestry of the vibrant city that I have come to understand during my 11 days on playa
