My second solo "Dust" tune is out tomorrow night at midnight, here's a little bit of it.
I wrote, recorded, and produced the song in my bedroom, making a bit of a DIY studio. It's an intimate song, and I felt making it this way would add to this feeling. I'm delighted with the results and am excited for people to hear it.
As I mentioned before, I was going deep in Murakami at the time of writing, I think Sputnik Sweetheart which my good friend @__seankeenan__ of @nixermusic gave to me. I think the song starts very much with two people acting like some of Murakami’s characters, like life is something that just happens to you, but transitions to a place of more urgency, with a sense that they do influence their own fate.
I was listening a lot to Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Alex G and Nathaniel Rateliff while I produced the track. Soaring vocals that still feel intimate and raw, intimate verses that feel like you're hearing somebody spout off the top of their dome, and minimalistic acoustic arrangements musically.

Westside is out tomorrow night! Here's a snippet from the music video by @what.shanna.saw that will come out with the song, including footage @thebadmanphotography took while we went up the west coast of ireland last year.
I started writing this song while back in Donegal to play a gig with @jasondeerymusic . I was waiting in his shed when the riff came so I quickly recorded 7 minutes of half-ideas and pleasing sounding syllables on my phone. I got back to London and that phone recording became my first solo single, which I'm buzzing to share with everybody tomorrow night.

Wrote a song about the Mica scandal in Donegal and played it with the full band for the first time on NYE. It tells a young family's story of strife, and i cant wait to hopefully share the full thing later this year.

Wee tune I wrote about the build up christmas, gearing up for heading back to donegal, thought id share a bit of a live solo version from a recent show for the day that's in it. The lyrics are taken mostly from texts from my mum and @jasondeerymusic in that early winter time, aiming for a conversational tone, making this one a nice personal one to listen back to tbh.
