I’ve never explored Wales so thought doing the Ultra Trail Snowdonia 50km as the best way.
Drove down Friday to Llanberis where the race village was. Loads of great stalls, got registered and had a yummy fresh pizza for dinner. These villages always have a chilled (with hint of excitement) vibe. Next was off to the campsite in Bangor for the night where I sorted my kit and got my head down.
Got to the start early so cuppa and porridge time. It was gloomy and wet so decided to opt for tshirt/armwarmers/jacket combo. I was in the first wave so 0830 we headed off on our first of 4 summits. Straight up we went and got chatting to a few runners. Only realised after that one was Heather from Global Triathlon Network (check it out on YouTube). Top of Snowdon reached and saw Flo from Westies who took a pic for me. Downhill through all the walkers heading up was tricky. First CP then back up a hill. Again couldn’t see anything but it was hard with driving rain and ridge lines. Suddenly appeared back at top of Snowdon. Even more walkers and a rocky downhill to the CP. I was so cold by this point I got assistance (my hands weren’t working) to change and put on my Loomi base layer, so cosy. Back out and up 3rd and then 4th summit. At top of it I asked the guy if the climbing was done. He said there was just a bubble to go. What is a bubble? Turns out 150m elevation! Final downhill was steep all the way to the end. I was completely drenched but enjoyed it! Opted to drive straight home. Fell into bed and only now had a shower and time to empty van….
How’d I do. 57km/3700m elevation. Over 1200 runners with 256 DNF. I completed it in 9hrs 17min, 20th female and 2nd in age. For me this wasn’t about placing. I’ve not been myself recently and reached burnout with so much going on in life. I’ve had to take some time off to get my energy back (both mental and physical) and I’m nearly there. This race I felt like I was ‘me’ again and it was lovely. Yesterday was why we exist.
Scenic trails. Salt air. A sauna crackling on the beach. Cold water that takes your breath and gives it back cleaner.
No screens. No noise. Just movement, warmth, and people who showed up to feel something real.
This is what Loomi is for — not just the gear you wear, but the moments it takes you to.
Nature. Together. Fulfilled.

Wondering what our branding line represents? It’s a ‘loop’ and its formation is how fabrics are built. In our knitted seamless baselayers, it’s a continuous flow of loops, intertwined, supporting each other to form a strong bond, stitch by stitch, every single one as important as the other with no boundaries, no hierarchy. It’s exactly our ethos with every run community. Loomi exists to protect, trust, stand together, unite, bond - just as the loops and threads in every piece we make.
Celebrating the ‘first day of Scottish Summer’ with a WILD Coastal Path Trail run, WILD Saunas and WILD sea dips and yes the weather was as equally WILD. As with all things Scottish, wild is a common vibe and we don’t stop doing because of bad weather, we just wear the right clothes (loomi’s obvs!!), we get outside and we #livelifeloomi
This was our first Loomi pop up event for 2026 and we all had a really wholesome day. Thanks for coming and for sure we’ll do it again.
Thanks to @spear.sauna for these amazing wild sauna experiences!!
2021 -2026 you’ve been a balancing act, tipping the scales on many occasions between my full time job @rapha and founder & director @loomiactive with some personal heartbreaks, challenges and moments of celebrations along the way. Today I hung up my wheels, my comfort zone, my routine for the last 5 years and finally I’m making the leap of faith - loomi all in. This is a moment that I feared and desired for a long time, yet time has passed in a flash. Making the decision, choosing between comfort and fear, was the biggest hurdle; today I stand up with my big girl pants on, I stand for everyone embarking on difficult times, big decisions, overcoming grief, battling health, choosing purpose, following their dreams, saying #yesibLOOMInwellcan. From today I am giving you my full attention, my 36 years of textiles and clothing passion, my desire to make a difference, change what is not working and future proof an industry and world in need. This is my dedication, my commitment, my focus. Today, a new era is on the horizon; it will be tough, it will have its doubts, it’ll be challenging and rewarding, but it will always be from the heart. This is from me to everyone who believes in me, even if I didn’t believe in me - until now!
Let’s go - time to #livelifeloomi
And do please share - meta loves a share and a comment so hang around a bit - many thanks 🙏

There’s something very freeing to run in just one breathable layer, you can feel the air but it’s not cold! But the thing I like most is that you can stop for chat on the trail and not feel like you’re freezing your butt off, yup it’s the chatting that I like the most when I’m out there in my Loomi !!

Sunday vibes! We tackled a guided trail recce run and it was absolute bliss. Ran along one of Scotland's oldest roads - history at every step! Massive props to the girls who crushed it! Would you like to join us next time?
The Spiners @2roarcams and @anya.camp005 in full @spinerace prep having a wee coffee stop before heading back out to finish their session. Amazing catching up with them both and hearing how training is going. Fully loaded in loomi’s and lots of kit chat and getting an idea of the weight they will be carrying. This pair are unbelievably committed and full of tremendous grit and graft, I’m in owe and glad to be of some help when it comes to kit. Anya is taking on the full winter spine and Rory in the Challenger North. Just four more weeks till dot watching begins, who will be joining us to watch?
Some great snaps from a fabtastic Loomi outing on the trails. We're in the thick of wild season but we ought to squeeze in more trails very soon. Who's joining?
