Spent March in a truck with my best pal driving from Washington to Florida. No plan, a sketchbook that not one drop of paint touched because we were running around like idiots 24/7, a lot of car picnics and the freedom of waking up every day seeing where the road would take us. These are just a few I took on my film camera, from over 700 hours sat next to each other, watching the world go by. So lucky to spend that many hours of the day laughing, exploring, being quiet and seeing some of my all time favourite views with my silliest of friends. Here’s to the next 700 hours, wherever they take us :)

Sam and I recently spent a while apart, on a phone call from Australia to Wyoming we decided to create a jacket incorporating the Aus native bird he was listening to, the kookaburra, and the Wyoming national flower, the Indian paintbrush 🪶
I don’t think there’s been a piece I’ve created yet that hasn’t been on an insane time crunch, but it’s becoming part of the ritual, staying up until the early hours, when it’s finally quiet. I really, really, really liked making this one 🖤

In a year filled with grief and loss, I decided to stop crying and make stuff instead. I painted, sewed, made jewellery, didn’t sleep much and ended the year feeling more resilient for it. Watching back some of these tiny midnight wins makes me pleased that I found a way to take care of things, even if that meant the only hours I could paint were midnight-6am. Half of these pieces haven’t seen the light of day, and I hope you like them 🙂❤️
