Part I: 'Pride Before and Pride After' — it was a great privilege to give this brief sermon at the Berlin Cathedral (@berliner.dom ) yesterday, advocating for the Pride of Afro-queer identities, and against the shame all too often placed upon us in the religious and political landscapes of our home-countries. this lecture is part of the Berliner Dom's Lenten Sermon Series on the Seven Deadly Sins. i sincerely do not consider myself an "LGBTQ+ activist" as i am sometimes described, but it means a lot for me to have gotten to do this, and i am ever grateful to the Maker for granting the gifts of courage, language and voice. and i am grateful for those who listen. the full service (including my second performance) is linked on my website, along with the complete texts in PDF, at loganfebruary.com/audio-video/. thanks and love and February blessings :) 🤍 🏳️‍🌈

✨Where There is No Door – Talk with @loganfebruary A Yorùbá door, carved from iroko wood in the 20th century, lies hidden in the storeroom of the Ethnological Museum of the @staatlichemuseenzuberlin – stripped of its materiality and significance. As the first ‘Poet in Residence’ at the Humboldt Forum, the Nigerian author Logan February faces a dilemma of agency: who is allowed to see? Who decides on access? And what happens to indigenous knowledge, to the sacred, to consent and privacy, when there is no door that can be opened? In “Objects Talk back”, international writers explore literary perspectives that develop from, through and in conjunction with an object. 📅 Thu 23 April 2026 ⏰ 7.00 PM 📍Mechanische Arena in the foyer 🎟️ €12 / reduced €6 🔗 More infos & tickets on our website! The essay, written for “Objects talk back”, combines prose poetry and research, absence and imagination. Through lost snake cults, anonymous masters and the spiritual presence of objects, a text emerges that leads far beyond the door. . 📅 Do, 23. April 2026 ⏰ 19:00 Uhr 📍Mechanische Arena im Foyer 🎟️ 12 € / ermäßigt 6 € 🔗 Mehr Infos & Tickets auf unserer Website! Der für “Objekte Widersprechen“ entstandene Essay verbindet Prosagedicht und Forschung, Abwesenheit und Imagination. Über verlorene Schlangenkulte, anonyme Meister und die spirituelle Präsenz von Objekten entsteht ein Text, der weit über die Tür hinausführt. . Foto: SHF, Foto: @stefanie_loos

For last December’s edition of the @hausfuerpoesie Vocations series, @daad_artists Fellow Claudia Rankine composed a new poem titled „Berlin / Cityscape“ and invited poet and former DAAD fellow Logan February to set the words to music. Produced in collaboration with Fabian Saul, the song is now available on streaming platforms. In a time of contested cityscapes, this rich collaboration imagines a promise of what Berlin can be. Berlin / Cityscape Despite what’s lethal in the cityscape that includes Despite what’s landfill in the cityscape that includes Despite what leaks into the cityscape that includes That includes   I want to live where the cityscape includes you I want to love where the cityscape includes me I want to live I want to love where the cityscape includes   For every daughter just ask their daughter They want to live where the cityscape includes you We’re alive where the cityscapes include me We will survive when the cityscape includes I want to live where the cityscape includes you I want to love where the cityscape includes me I want to live I want to love where the cityscape includes   Just ask any daughter Ask every son in the cityscape Despite what’s lonesome, we’re here, we’re the landscape We’ve drawn a layout, we’re alive in this cityscape   I want to live where the cityscape includes you I want to love where the cityscape includes me I want to live I want to love where the cityscape includes Lyrics: Claudia Rankine Arrangement: @hel.gadavis Vocal Composition: @loganfebruary Production: @fabian_saul Mixing: @wouterrentema Cover Image: @heryteteferytequame @daad_artists @hausfuerpoesie @theracialimaginary @mathiaszeiske Photo Claudia Rankine: Andrea Vollmer

i wrote a research memoir from my year as poet-in-residence at @humboldtforum , for the Objects Talk Back literature series. Where There Is No Door is a reckoning and a soul-search that i am proud of, scared of, and still at work on the right way of offering to the public after holding on to it for all these months. if you can be there, i will be honoured by your company and witness. all my thanks to the series curator, Priya Basil, for her patient company and encouragement throughout the process. it was a revealing adventure, a hard birth, a job of love. on April 23rd, it will come to life and light. tickets are available at the @humboldtforum website. photos by @stefanie_loos for Humboldt Forum

“Our collaboration was a feast of unknown forms, a new process of crafting meaning. We spoke so much about the film’s medley of ideas and body of texts, both found and written, and I got to voice them – not only as a poet, but as narrator and witness. Seeing it all pulled together, the resulting essence is one of deep curiosity and contemplation, fantastically compressed in your final cut. The collaboration of poetic and visual language is expansive and overflowing.” Artist Lucy Beech (@lucybeech ) and poet Logan February (@loganfebruary ) discuss containment and porosity, thresholds and doorways, environmental time, and ‘Out of Body’ – their collaborative film tracing hidden waste streams and more-than-human entanglements, soon to be presented in the New Museum’s (@newmuseum ) exhibition ‘New Humans: Memories of the Future.’ Photography by Benedicte Sehested (@benedicte_gyldenstierne )

@delfi_mag DELFI MAGAZIN RELEASE: HYPE 27. Februar | 20:00 Mit: Logan February @loganfebruary , Hengameh Yaghoobifarah @habibitus & I.V. * Hypes keep sweeping over us. Like waves in a sea of public attention, they wash around us, their crests lifting us up. Everyone wants a piece of the hype, while no one wants to have been ‘just’ a hype after all. So what if we hyped reading in general a bit more?
