Boomerang 🪃 That one‘s turned into my biggest mental battle to date - even bigger the joy to clip the chain! A grade I‘ve climbed so many times before, but this route has made me doubt. For the first time I had to invest session over session instead of a few attempts, I kept falling and I almost wanted to give up. After many ups and downs, many tears shed, feeling restless and disappointed, questionning and processing - and just when I was in peace and ready to let it go, it stuck. Sounds cheesy, was cheesy, but cried a river sticking that final jug. Finally finding time for this post. The new year‘s started kinda unnoticed, not much going on besides training on plastic and lifting some weights, currently sitting in Englands thickest fog. Nevertheless looking back on the past year is pleasent. Regentanz ☔️ What an eventful year it‘s been for me, going from one injury into another. I‘m still standing, or rather, again. My foot surgery‘s had more of an impact than I first expected. Quite slow progress, especially the mobility and flexibility part, still working on it, and I developed quite a fear of falling in bouldering. Maybe not only for the worst? You got to deal with what you‘ve got and I’m even more happy to have spent a lot of time back at lead climbing for the last few months! I‘ve put myself in the challenge of trying some harder projects out of my comfort zone, failed, kept trying, failed again, kept failing and resigned for now. I am in peace with it. Regentanz, one I‘ve climbed back in September. In a place where you can literally dance in the rain and still have a blast, fits my mood! Thanks @re_bolting and the boys for the massive work at Isenflue, it‘s well appreciated! Shine on 💎 A great route high up in alpine surrounding, some of the most complex and delicate moves I ever figured. Back home from another World Cup - this time in a different role. Like every year Innsbruck was pretty intense, as there‘s a huge number of athletes, loads of familiar faces, big crowds and many impressions. Dedication and patience ❤️‍🩹 Three months after my pulley rupture, after hours and hours of rehab and a patience-demanding time, I was more than happy that in my first Lehn session of the year I was able to climb ‚Yobar‘, 8a That felt promising! Just one week later I found myself with a dislocated ankle that needed surgery and facing a long time of recovery. Sometimes things don‘t go as we planned, and that one felt like a punch in the face. A few weeks have passed now and I am slowly back into my training routine, appreciating the small steps in the right direction and dreaming of the day I will be back on the rocks! I‘m filled with joy about the things I am actually able to do, such as discovering toproping steep routes on one leg to be a very fun thing (the momentum that heavy boot can create - insane! Also, did you ever hear about the technique of a „kneehook“?! days on grit ❄️ Spent some days in the Peak District and had my portion of winter bouldering in very cold and windy temps! After a time of mainly lifting weights and rehabing my finger, shredding my skin on sharp gritstone was exactly what I needed. …and loads of tape. Oh, how we enjoyed that warmth! 🌞 What a trip to remember, living a 2nd summer in Spain. What a wild ride this year’s been so far! Learning more about my body and mind with its ups and downs, finding peace in unfinished business such as growth comes with patience, going through an intense and inspiring comp season with @ivonlawerenz , meeting great people along the journey I wouldn’t want to miss in my life, last but not least surpassing my own ideas of what‘s possible and ahead. So yesterday I climbed 'Target' 8a, one I was intimidated to even try for a while. For the crag, for the grade, for the fear of failing. One I finally put my hands on last week, one that‘s thaught me it‘s all there, one I‘m proud of!
