Colleen & Mark’s relationship, in their own words, feels like the best kind of friendship: steady, safe, and like home. Tucker , their dog, showed up in a bow tie… because of course he did! That’s just who Colleen and Mark are. They’re the kind of people who make everyone around them feel loved, remembered, and completely at home.

They wanted a day that was simple and light and felt like spring with faith at the center, family all around, and nothing to get in the way of what a wedding is really about. They made covenant at Christ Our King, walked out those doors with their hands raised, and made their way to Sandy Creek Barn where the sailcloth tent was full of people they love, and the Emerald Empire Band made absolutely sure no one sat down for long.

Cherished heirlooms were part of their story. Colleen wore mom’s pearl bracelet, and a generational cake knife was on the table. Colleen’s sweet mom teared up throughout the day and especially when Colleen’s father gave his speech. There was one part of the day where I absolutely almost lost it and had to hold back tears. After I took some family photos of the grandparents, Mark’s grandfather said “Well, I hope I didn’t break your camera!” and smiled with a sparkle in his eye. My grandfather used to say something similar, so it pierced by heart.

That’s the thing about people like Colleen and Mark: the warmth they carry shows up in everyone around them. Even in a grandfather with a sparkle in his eye and a one-liner that stopped me in my tracks.🤍

As 2025 comes to an end, I find myself so thankful for weddings like this one. The kind where I get to be part of the story from the very beginning, photographing the engagement, getting to know the couple, and then standing alongside them on their wedding day.
Being invited into moments like these, working with such talented vendors, and celebrating covenant love never gets old. Seeing God’s love on display through these days is such a gift.
