New headshots for Dan Henderson!!
I've known Dan for the better part of 8 years thanks to our theatre community, and having shared the stage with him on a few occasions. I think pretty much most of the regional theatre community can say they know Dan or have even performed alongside him at any number of the performing arts companies around our neck of the woods.
Dan is also retiring from teaching this year, having put 20+ years in with Washington County Schools. And with a little more free time comes that want to get out and perform more. Which requires updated headshots.
If these three shots don't convey Dan in a nutshell, I don't know how else I could have captured him. His 'what makes you happy?' trigger for this session was literally performing. Being on a stage, making people smile, telling a room full of people a story for the next couple hours. When I would trigger with 'go to your happy place' his smile was always this genuine, bright, and insanely infectious.
Even on our post shoot consultation, I had said "are you sure you don't want to pick at least one that was a little more for the serious drama / straight play submissions?!" and his reply was even though he loved those just as much, they didn't reflect him, the Dan that everyone knows. I'll be sure to put one or two of those up down the road, because they're just that good.
Are you going for your BFA in Performing Arts but didn’t update your headshot before you left?! I got you!
Regional & Community Theatre fam, don’t suffer with a backstage brick wall cell phone picture for the program, the cast board in the lobby, or for your auditions. You and I both know you’re never happy with them. Let’s fix that, together.
Summer-stock theatre auditions and 2026-27 season auditions are just around the corner.
