Belter of a day to be on the water. Not much moving in the shallows as the water temp is still low. Nice to be out though. The hills of Harris in pic 2..... bandit country. #lobster #crab #sustainablefishing #waternish #isleofskye

Great morning running out the new lobster gear. These 46" parlours are ridiculously heavy. Hopefully the Lobster has started moving. These are baited with both salted and fresh bait so hoping for a mix of lobs and crabs. #sustainablefishingcommunities #sustainablefishing #eatlocal #isleofskye #waternish

I went to the Merchant Navy in the early 2000s to get away from Crofts and sheep only to end up 25 years later with a croft and sheep. I should have known this would happen when I married a farmers daughter @fluraichean_le_gaol With the cold weather coming in, it means we have to make sure the ladies get what they need to sustain themselves and the lambs they will soon be carrying. Hopefully, the weather gets better by the weekend so I can get back fishing Bloody sheep. Bloody freezing. #isleofskye #crofting #croftingscotland #sustainability

Been a busy year so far. A visit to Alaska and Maine with Kaly Group to further our knowledge of seaweed and trying new fishtraps we imported from Sweden and Scallop creels from Lewis. We're diversifying and keeping things sustainable. Hoping to offer more species in 2026. #sustainablefishing #polesonmarine #Scotland #isleofskye

I caught 3 trigger fish today In the same fleet. They don't belong here but have been seen in the past. Interesting that they were all large and 2 of them had roe. All 3 put back. They eat crab and other shellfish so hopefully, I won't see too many more. Pretty cool to see though. #marinebiology #marinescotland

The weather was kind to KALY deploying its trial grids at Loch Bay on Skye last week. Fantastic work by Iain and Jemima getting everything ready ifor seeding in a few weeks time! @lochbayshellfish

Another orange lobster. These have all been caught within 1/4 of a mile. This one is about 9 years old. They will more than likely all share the same mother. We don't land these ones. #sustainablefishing #waternish #isleofskye #buylocal

Somhairle has been out on the boat during the summer holidays. It will take him a bit of time to get used to the classroom again. He starts his 6th and final year of high school next week. #youngfisherman #sustainablefishing #buylocal

@somhairlematheson and I made for a weather window this afternoon. We went up to Waternish point to haul the lobster gear. It turned out to be a glorious afternoon. We are heading home to Stein now. #waternish #isleofskye #buylocal #sustainablefishing

What a day for it 🌞. Today we carried out further line assessments and prepared samples for a direct seeding lab analysis. All with help from our friends @hortimare 🌱🌿
