My solo exhibition 𝘼 𝙑𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝘽𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙒𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧 at
@artgallburl closes on September 14 — just two more weekends to catch it! I’ll be in the gallery on the last day (Sunday September 14) for those who wish to visit while the artist is present. You might even witness a brief performance 😉
A huge thank you to
@suzannecarte for your unwavering support throughout this journey, always offering a hand, an ear, and your heart to artists. I’m so grateful to have collaborated with such an icon, and for the incredible team of installers you brought together who handled the work with such care.
A heartfelt thank you to
@emcroning for our conversations that helped deepen my language for the themes, approaches, and histories behind this exhibition. I cherished our studio visits and your insight, as well as our hilarious banter. It’s such a rare gift to work with someone who helps you see your own work more clearly.
Endless gratitude to my husband,
@itscarus , for being the quiet force behind so much of what I do. You’ve held space for me to take creative risks, to fall apart when needed, and to keep going.
A huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time to visit the show, whether for the opening, the talk, my workshop, or simply to spend time with the work. I know it’s a journey for many, and I so I appreciate each of you.
To be an artist is not something I take for granted. It requires time, space, and an audience willing to witness, reflect, and engage. I don’t create in a vacuum, and it’s through being 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘯 that the work comes alive. Your presence, your attention, your questions and conversations are all part of what allows me to stay curious and create. But being an artist isn’t only about creating, it’s about making 𝘪𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, and I’m so grateful to be held in a community that allows that to happen.
Finally, thank you to the Toronto Arts Council and Ontario Arts Council for your generosity and support in bringing this exhibition to life.
