33 going on 83! 😜 Today @gomezica_ celebrates his bday in style! His wish was to look old. With the help of his SFX buddies, @lizzyfoxmakeup and @josie_l_rodriguez (myself ) we were able to grant his wish. I think we did pretty good. Most importantly he was very happy with it. Cheek and neck waddle pieces used from @outofkit and nose piece by @dyadmufx . We filled in the chin, forehead and eyes using WM creations old age stipple. I’m back after a deeply needed break from social media. I highly recommend it. I searched for news from sources I trusted, I read and saw the content I wanted and needed rather than letting an AI algorithm from a monster tech company choose for me. After long conversations and consideration, I realized I love a lot in this space. I love seeing all my creative friends and engaging with new people. I love dog videos and photos of impossibly decadent desserts. I love seeing my film community thriving ( at least trying) and I love seeing the energy and passion in activists who are braver than I. @fairylandfilm Department Head @josie_l_rodriguez and I had so many beautiful memories on this film, from our research that felt very personal at times to decisions and choices that created her designs. One of our most meaningful choices was using sequins my mother had purchased in the 70’s on our characters in one of the party scenes. These sequins were a staple of my own hippie/crafty childhood and it was so fun to use them on @captainscootmcnairy@nessa.dougherty and @sir.thurston ✨Thank you @sofiacoppola@tribesofsf@mizabbott & Andrew!
So excited to share our film #fairylandfilm with the world!!! @josie_l_rodriguez Designed and headed our Makeup Department and we created some beautiful makeups and fx. The story was so meaningful to us and to finally see it get a theatrical release is a total joy!!
