𝕲𝖔𝖙𝖍 𝕬𝖓𝖌𝖊𝖑𝖊𝖘 | This glass art piece is handmade with pure love and is one-of-a-kind. The end of August marks my 20 years in Los Angeles. It has been a wild ride. This city raised the 2.0 and 3.0 versions of me, and for that it will always be special. Link is in bio! You know what to do.

So everyone’s favorite glass auntie @katekleinmakeup (you obviously remember Kate from story mentions several years ago…right?) needed the perfect little birthday gift for her sister in law. There’s a new species of shroom that have been popping up in the eighth circle of the Hellway. I was already headed that way to drop off some new arrivals. I always forget how cold it gets the deeper we go, but alas - we are on a mission. In daylight this species is almost transparent with a surprising irid shift. At night those external spores grow into little sticky hands that pluck the fin-like underbellies out of their shroomy counterparts to sustain themselves. We keep all shroom variants on display in the world’s first drive-thru beastiary, Mothifornia. The plants and wildlife sustain each other, even if most things living here are predators. I plucked this one in its infancy before it learned what its spores can do, so it is totally safe for at home display. Shroom Species x13 3.5”x6” Stained Glass, Brass Stem

Every maker, crafter, artist - however you want to classify the work - has a favorite step of the process. I love to spend a little time on the grinder. While cutting glass feels monotonous to me and sometimes can result in an expensive mistake, grinding it to refine the cuts is so satisfying. I get to put on my headphones (it’s loud) to tune out the world, listen to The Stormlight Archives in surround sound, and make each piece fit exactly as patterned. I’ll be honest - I’m absolute trash at using a traditional paper pattern. Pattern scissors can absolutely go to the Ninth Circle in a cage, in the bottom of an ice lake. I use removable vinyl and a cricut maker 3 or a venture to cut my patterns and I don’t number anything like a psycho. Hey pssstttt @cricut sponsor me? Is there a part of the process you want to see more of? ✍️ The suggestion box is open below!

˙X Ɐ ꓶ Ǝ ꓤ. If a bright glow in the dark glass with or without UV black light is what you’re after @glow1.glass is the absolute authority. I fear this is not even all of my haul from @glasscraftandbeadexpo . If you saw me shopping there two days in a row - no you didn’t. If you know I had also pre-ordered what I needed to re-stock on, no you didn’t. This glass always reminds me how much fun I have playing in shards. Now if someone would make translucent and/or opaque neon glass 🙏 What’s your favorite!?!

Choosing glass as my main working medium was a bold decision. Anyway. She’s going to be made into much smaller things now 😂🫠

I have no idea how this is going to turn out but I got an idea for a small glass tray project from my trip to see Medfield State Hospital. I want to see if I can make it come to life. I made black pills out of glass dough, and the tray base from a sheet of French Vanilla glass. I want the tray to feel a little old and dingy like how the place feels now. I want the “crazy pill” to be scary - and the medicine pouring out of the pill to be fun and exciting. I don’t know if everything will keep its shape in firing but follow and/or check back in for the progress. Everything will take a few days to dry so pardon the pause ya’ll! ❤️‍🔥

We don’t travel with a plan along the Hellway - we just discover as we go. Okay, I know the energy immediately feels weird here, but I’m scared to walk through it alone. I hope you’ll take a nice little stroll with me in the rainy drizzle through the grounds. Grab your coat and the camera! On the grounds map posted at the entryway path the layout is pretty simple but we got a little turned around in there. 📍Medfield State Hospital (Formerly Medfield State Insane Asylum) Medfield, Massachusetts

Welcome to The Hellway. It Came From Hell isn’t a celebration of eternal punishment - it’s a destination. Art inspiration comes in many forms - and I make a lot of off beat stops in my travels across the country. If it’s a strange place that you can visit with me here in the “up above” I want to share it with you. As I travel the country bringing a little bit of ‘Hell’ to your town I hope you’ll come along for not only the art - but its origins. Gas, glass, and sass baby! Medfield State Hospital Formerly Medfield Insane Asylum 📍Medfield, Massachusetts Built in 1982, Closed 2003 It was the first Asylum to assign patients jobs instead of confining them to cells. There are 841 gravesites on the property and was open from 1918-1988. At one point the campus housed 2200 patients.
