Breastfeeding is often described in simple terms, but it holds far more than that.
A friend described it as a quiet pause in a loud day. Tender. Sometimes overwhelming, but somehow, in hindsight, many mothers remember it not for the difficulty, but for the closeness.
She remembers the soft weight of her baby falling asleep mid-feed. The stillness of early mornings (and late nights). The feeling of being needed in the most instinctive way.
Motherhood continues to amaze me and it was an honour to capture this ‘lingering feeling’.

So much joy captured during the Beighton’s first ever family photoshoot.
Recently, I had a conversation with a mom that stayed with me. She said there’s something about bringing your baby home that changes the feeling of a house forever. For example, she mentioned the couch where you’ll feed them at 2am, the kitchen where you’ll dance with them while dinner cooks, and tons of other moments in between the milestones. She said those are the memories she misses most now that her children are grown.
So take this as a little reminder to just appreciate where you are now!🥹✨ Little ones don’t stay little forever (so I’ve been told😉).
