This year I went all in on spinning, and looking back, I really did so much 🥺. I spun with lots of new folks, including folks I look up to, made an effort to support other selectors, played on a couple of radio stations, organized events for the first time, including one with live bands!!!, made new friends 💕, went on tour!!!!, adventured into PERU SURF, collaborated with bar owners, recorded a couple of mixes, played cities I had never played before, and opened for sickass musicians and bands. This is one part midlife crisis one part a carpe diem life philosophy — a shift in me as a result of the pandemic. I’ve become braver to explore and try new things (I crave new things!) and move with a little more urgency in the places I care about. And because of that, my sense of agency has grown. Our community, our lives are what we make of it. I’ve just really been feeling how fleeting life is, and this was the outcome. Sidenote, these memories make me so happy.
