After 25 unforgettable years at CBS Miami, today was my last work day with the station. I was part of the network’s global layoffs this week—alongside 1,000 talented colleagues across the country.
Yes, I’m sad. But mostly, I’m grateful. Grateful for the memories.
Grateful for the wildly talented coworkers who became lifelong friends.
Grateful for all the great stories I was blessed to tell, the interviews, the Taste of the Towns!
I've loved my time at CBS Miami.
But perhaps I am most grateful for YOU—the viewers and followers who welcomed me into your homes, phones and hearts every single week .
Reaching you has always been the most meaningful part of this job.
And while this year has thrown me some curveballs, I’m not done yet.
I’ve got exciting ideas and opportunities ahead—and I can’t wait to share what’s next.

Twenty‑nine years ago, we posed for this first photo for a Mother’s Day magazine story. You had arrived the day before Mother’s Day that year officially making me a Mom for the first time — my greatest gift, one day early-
I remember telling the reporter that all I wanted was for you to grow up feeling loved unconditionally , protected, and most of all happy.
All of that remains exactly the same today .

Since leaving CBS Miami, I’ve been diving into new creative projects — all rooted in what I love most: telling the stories that make South Florida unforgettable.
After more than 35 years covering our food scene, major events, arts, film, music, real estate, and the people shaping it all, I’m excited to bring that same trusted storytelling directly to brands and clients.
I’m now actively collaborating with restaurants, creators, and companies on Instagram and Facebook through #OutontheTown with Lisa P — expanding into Reels, Stories, YouTube, and more.
Here's what I'm doing in my Lisa 2.0 era 😉:
• Hosting & emceeing live events
• On‑camera interviews for projects no longer getting mainstream media attention
• Moderating panels and conversations with community leaders and visiting talent
• Social media collaborations that blend your brand’s message with my signature storytelling
My new company, Bright Eyes Productions, is named after a nickname from my late dad — a reminder to approach every opportunity with optimism and wide‑open eyes. That’s exactly how I’m stepping into this next chapter.

I’m devastated to hear of the passing of Dr. Juan Paramo (a top surgical oncologist) from pancreatic cancer. He was the surgeon who performed my lumpectomy (last year) and guided me through one of the scariest moments of my life with extraordinary kindness. I had just been through my breast cancer ordeal when I sat down for this interview with anchor /friend @laurengpastrana , and his compassion was still so present in my heart.
i walked into that first appointment terrified, and he met me with a calm and gentleness I will never forget. I didn’t know then that he was facing his own cancer diagnosis. He still gave me everything he had.
I’m praying for his family, his colleagues, his patients, and everyone whose life he touched.

Jimmy Buffett’s “A Pirate Looks at Forty” has always been Bill’s song. Today he’s a few decades past that number, but you’d never know it — he’s still full of mischief, charm, and that spark that keeps all of us on our toes.
