I’m proud of an essay about how my senior-in-high-school son became my favorite snowboarding buddy, starting with me teaching him J-turns on the sledding hill at the middle school when he was six. I haven’t been able to bring myself to read it since it went to print because I am a sentimental fool and he’s graduating soon, but it felt great to write it and get it published by @thesnowboardersjournal , a beautiful magazine.

I usually take a break from social media over the holidays, and this year was no different. It always feels kinda weird diving back in, but I value this space for sharing photos + thoughts, so here I am with a few snaps from the end of December.

Thanks to @jwrieden for the awesome coaching, and @jackmullaney29 and @ahmedmuhumed14 (and @jwrieden and Indie👼) for bringing their @naz_elite greatness to the experience.
And thanks to @yoder for training, racing, and traveling with me…and letting me drag you to Freebirds and around IV. #IYKYK @ucsbalumni@yoder and I met on a running press trip 19 years ago because we were around the same pace on a group run. Fun full circle run last weekend.
