2025. Keyword: home. It's in a feeling. It's been a memory, a longing for familiarity. Sometimes transitional and fashioned at will, or emerging from habit and happenstance. A song, a scent, a place to anchor. It's trees that remember my name, promises fulfilled on concrete, a sea ready with a kiss. Home is always with me. In this last quarter, I was whittled and reconstructed. Grateful for a home that soothes and the many hands that hold me up. 1. Home in a room. 2-4. Home in tradition (feliz navidad btw). 5-8. Home in transition. 9-10. Home in grief. 11. I was just very pretty here.

Thrilled to share something a bit different today. Together with @rishie_ , our article “Transgressing Biomedical and Legal Boundaries: The ‘Enticing and Hazardous’ Challenges and Promises of a Self-Managed Abortion Multiverse” examines how self-managed abortion (SMA) broadens what we understand abortion to be — not only as a medical act, but as a social, political, and collective practice. We argue that SMA: 🔹 Pushes beyond narrow medico-legal control of abortion 🔹 Challenges who gets to be an “expert” and whose knowledge counts 🔹 Shows abortion as collective, networked care – a multiverse of abortions, not a single clinical script 🔹 Turns “transgression” into a pathway for transformation and feminist futures The brilliant @lis.rising created a visual translation of this SMA multiverse — holding complexity, defiance, solidarity, and care in ways that words alone cannot. 🎨 See more of Amaryllis’ work: https://lnkd.in/dP7ybUQK 📄 Open access article: https://lnkd.in/dV4uxcik

My inner babies and I got to work on Out A Tomb/Outa Tuum for September's @burnaway 's mood ring column! You can read and play with it on the magazine site. Growing up, I thought playgrounds were for babies and rich kids. Where I'm from, that's where I saw them, basic schools and prep schools. Transitioning from basic to primary, I remember missing playgrounds. Didn't know I wouldn't readily access one again. I would relish in the rare opportunity I had to hop on a slide or swing to my heart's content elsewhere. I was never lacking in play. I don't think that's something you can take away. I had many toys, new and inherited. I also had friends and cousins and books and grass and my imagination. Outa Tuum is about infrastructure and how some forms are deemed optional for people who don't have the resources to demand otherwise. (works best on pc or tablets, tap and hold to interact on mobile)
