The same color shown through the many vibrant expressions that linseed oil paint creates over time. Here seen on different parts of the historic building Badensminde at @gludmuseum in the color 60 / Caput Mortum. Linseed oil painted surfaces have the advantage of preserving the wood’s natural ability to release moisture. This allows moisture to move out of the timber without the paint peeling or creating conditions for early wood rot — while at the same time, the linseed oil paint protects the surface from rain and the pigments from the sun. The advantage of linseed oil painted surfaces ageing in this way is that, over time, the surface becomes increasingly breathable. At the same time, it significantly reduces the preparation work required before repainting, as thin layers of linseed oil paint rarely peel.

A revisit of Mark de Vos Dalhoum’s bench for Kronborg, created for this year’s season of Denmark’s Next Classic. In his work, he explored the castle’s history and architecture, translating its character and atmosphere into the form of a bench. The result is a quiet and simple piece, without becoming dull, as Mark himself describes it. The wood has been treated with our Satin Wood Oil in a custom color. @markdevosdalhoum @therchilsen_moebelsnedkeri @copenhagenhardwood Photo credit: @photographer_mikkelrussel #linolieogpigment #linseedoilpaint #satinwoodoil #kronborg #danmarksnæsteklassiker

Uldhulen is a spatial acoustic concept that highlights surplus wool as a valuable resource while improving sound environments in institutional settings. It offers children a calm, safe, and sensory space to retreat to in an otherwise noisy everyday life. Uldhulen consists of eight panels made from Danish Douglas fir, treated with our Satin Wood Oil in the colour 47/Bilbao, and clad with wool panels made from surplus wool dyed with madder root. The construction allows the panels to tilt, enabling children to look outside. The project was developed in collaboration between @detvildespinderi and @relieffarkitekter , with the wooden structure crafted by @eik_traehaandvaerk

Are you aware that titanium dioxide, which is the most widely used white pigment in paint production worldwide, is among the pigments that emit the most CO₂ during its manufacturing process? If you are concerned about CO₂ emissions, we can guide you in the right direction before you choose a colour for your next project. We have EPDs for our main products and also a certified EPD generator, which we can use to calculate the CO₂ footprint of your specific paint based on the very different CO₂ profiles of the pigments. However, one should be aware that CO₂ calculations are still in their early stages – over time, I believe they will become more accurate.
