It's going to be a wild ride: tomorrow I'm off to DC, then two incredible weeks with orchestras I adore in Dublin and Montreal! After all these years, I'm finally making my Madrid debut with @ocnesp and ending the season with the mind-blowing Revolución Diamantina! May is a huge month (hello, birthday!) and I feel like this is the ultimate gift! Music by Jessie Montgomery, premiering Ciel d'hiver in Ireland, Dora Pejacevic in Canada, Javier Martinez Campos in Madrid, and Ortiz in Latin America! #party

I think one of the best conducting "mentors" I have ever had has to be the amazing repository of scores marked by Bernstein in the @nyphil digital archives. There is almost always an answer to any technical problem you can encounter. So much ca be learn on how to plan the trayectory of a piece from a to z what he left. every week I'm finding such great info... ♥️♥️♥️every year I have a post related to this but today I'm truly grateful for his generosity ♥️ thank you for marking your scores so thoughtfully Maestro Bernstein!

Amazing Mexican 🇲🇽piece, "neoclassical" in sound world, Stravinsky inspired! Gabriela Ortiz's Papalotes (kites) is an amazing piece to program! The orchestration works perfectly for a small format! In this case the piece is in conversation with Beethoven Violin Concerto and Stravinsky's Firebird so a lot of flying in the sky 🐦‍🔥🐦‍🔥🐦‍🔥🐦‍🔥 next week with the great @symfonikristiansand ! #Programminglatinartists

It's been a non stop winter... I have been working non stop in such a wide array of styles and music in general which makes it more meaningful that my dear @jamesro1959 extended the kind invitation to come and work this week at home in Philadelphia with the incredibly sophisticated and talented students of @curtisinstitute . I always love working here and I have enjoyed coming back after a couple of years! Shout out to the fantastic @thezhaoyiran for her preparation and I look fwd to tomorrow when we will do a reading of Schumann Symphony n.2! I'm missing @nezetseguin and his amazing presence this orchestra plays so well!
