What is the meaning of the word “limen”? ‘sensory threshold’ In physiology, psychology, or psychophysics, a limen or a liminal point is a sensory threshold of a physiological or psychological response. : START, starting point, beginning, brink, verge, edge, dawn, birth, origin, inception, conception, opening, launch, inauguration, institution, initiation, debut, creation; kick-off; commencement.

«Note» : Performance de Pavilion et installations culinaires de Clémence Hoffmann 🗓️ Samedi 25 octobre de 16h à 19h Pavilion est un trio basé à Brooklyn formé par Solomon Gottfried à la contrebasse/électronique, Tim Watson à la guitare/sound design et Connor Parks à la batterie. Le groupe explore la dualité entre des improvisations aux textures sonores denses et les innovations rythmiques du jazz et des musiques américaines des XXe et XXIe siècles. Clémence Hoffmann est une artiste diplômée des Beaux-Arts de Paris et basée à Marseille. Son travail s’articule autour des notions de jeux et de partage en détournant les codes de l’espace domestique et notamment ceux de la cuisine. Ses travaux prennent la forme d’installations interactives et comestibles allant de la table de jeu au banquet en passant par la performance. Sur une invitation de Mathilde Badie et William Wilson. Mathilde Badie est commissaire indépendante et historienne de l’art. Elle développe ses recherches et projets curatoriaux autour des rapports entre matérialités et pratiques rituelles, et travaille en particulier sur l’usage du culinaire dans l’art contemporain. William Wilson est le fondateur de Limen, une structure artistique implantée dans le sud de l’Amérique du Nord et tournée vers l’international. À la croisée d’une maison de production, d’un studio de création, d’une galerie et d’un dispositif d’accompagnement, Limen a pour vocation d’offrir aux artistes et aux créatifs les moyens de partager des formes d’expression soigneusement choisies. It establishes dialogues between the artist’s works and those of certain contemporary figures who have informed his thinking: Chris Marker, Luc Tuymans, Wolfgang Tillmans, and Katinka Bock, who, like him, are interested in areas of ambiguity and transition rather than in assertions. Attention is paid to the venue that hosts these works, the Carré de Baudouin, materialized through the creation of an in situ work born from a collection of narratives and archival research.
